Groningen is the northeasternmost province of the Netherlands. It borders on Friesland to the west, Drenthe to the south, the German state of Lower Saxony to the east, and the Wadden Sea to the north. As of February 2020, Groningen had a population of 586,309 and a total area of 2,960 km2 (1,140 sq mi).
The Dutch public broadcasting system is a group of organizations that are responsible for public service television and radio broadcasting in the Netherlands. It is composed of the Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO) foundation, which acts as its governing body, and a number of public broadcasters. The Dutch Media Act 2008 regulates how air time is divided and puts the administration of the public broadcasting system in the hands of the NPO Board of Directors.
Television in the Netherlands was officially introduced in 1951. In the Netherlands, the television market is divided between a number of commercial networks, such as RTL Nederland, and a system of public broadcasters sharing three channels, NPO 1, NPO 2, and NPO 3. Imported programmes, as well as news interviews with responses in a foreign language, are almost always shown in their original language, with subtitles.

Nationaal Songfestival was an annual music competition, which was originally organised by the Dutch public broadcaster Nederlandse Televisie Stichting (NTS), and later by the Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS) and the Televisie Radio Omroep Stichting (TROS). It was staged almost every year between 1956 and 2012 to determine the country's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. The festival has produced four Eurovision winners and eight top-five placings for the Netherlands at the contest.
NPO FunX is a Dutch public radio station which has been on air since 3 August 2002. The station runs mainly urban music.
Radio Gelderland is a regional public radio station for the Dutch province of Gelderland. Its history started in 1965 when Gelderland joined the RONO. The RONO was already broadcasting for the north and east of the Netherlands. In 1977 RONO split into Radio Noord for Groningen and Drenthe, Radio Fryslân for Friesland and Radio Oost for Overijssel and Gelderland. Since 1985 Radio Gelderland is an independent broadcaster.
The Koningslied is a song written for the investiture of prince Willem-Alexander as King of the Netherlands on 30 April 2013 on request of the Nationaal Comité Inhuldiging. Upon release the song was met with criticism and ridicule from the public. As a result of the criticism Ewbank withdrew the Koningslied on 20 April 2013. Nevertheless, the Nationaal Comité Inhuldiging confirmed on 22 April 2013 the song would be used as part of the investiture.
Ajaxjournaal is a Dutch football news magazine revolving around AFC Ajax, a football club from Amsterdam, that was aired on TV channel RTV Noord Holland from 2004 until 2007. During the show the creators Maarten Bax and Onno Vos would interview the players and coaches about the coming or preceding matches, as well as air footage from the games and from the club's training grounds Sportpark De Toekomst, while summarizing the weekly news and events circulating around the club. The show aired every two hours after 17:30 CET on Fridays, and every hour after 9:30 CET on Saturdays from 2004 until 2007. No longer aired on national television since 2007 however, Ajaxjournaal is still broadcast online, and is also made available for viewing on screens all around the Amsterdam Metropolitan area, from McDonald's restaurants to screens on board trains of the Amsterdam Tramway Network, as well as the Amsterdam Metro transit system.
Omroep Brabant is the Netherlands Public Broadcasting regional television and radio broadcaster in the North Brabant Province in the Netherlands. It has its headquarters in Eindhoven and also a building in Breda. It commenced broadcasting on 1 September 1976.

The elections were held on the same day as the 2019 Dutch water boards elections and, in the Caribbean Netherlands, island council elections.

Omroep Zwart, also known simply as Zwart, is a Dutch broadcasting association that is part of the Dutch public broadcasting system since 1 January 2022. The initiators are rapper Akwasi Ansah and film director Gianni Grot. The goal of the broadcaster is to create inclusive programs with new people, including those with different skin colors, preferences, origins, sexual orientations, backgrounds, or disabilities. The broadcaster collaborates with BNNVARA.
The Regio Songfestival is a song competition held among regional public broadcasters in the Netherlands. Held for the first time in 1995 under its original title Dutch Song Contest, the contest's format is loosely based on the Eurovision Song Contest, with slightly different rules aimed at promoting local music. After a 28-year hiatus, the competition is set to return in 2023.
