MTV Music 24 (also called MTV Music) was a Pan-European music television channel operated by ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA. The channel was available in multiple countries across Europe. The programming consists of non-stop music videos 24-hours a day. The channel first launched in the Netherlands and Flanders in 2011. Since then the channel has rolled out across many parts of Europe including Germany and it is available in South Africa. [1] The channel was registered with licensing authorities in the Czech Republic. [2] In March 2020, the channel launched in Poland replacing the version of MTV Music Polska. [3]

History

In the course of 2011 it became clear that MTV Benelux would cease TMF Nederland in the Netherlands replacing it by thematic channels of the MTV brand. The broadcast of TMF Nederland ended on September 1, 2011, except its digital channels, the broadcasts of its digital channels ended on December 31, 2011. [4] VJ's from TMF were transferred to MTV Netherlands. A non-stop music channel was introduced under the name of MTV Music 24 on September 1, 2011. [5] As a response of the increased competition from other music channels and online service and the main MTV brand had deviated from its original purpose. [6]

In March 2019, MTV Music 24 became available in South Africa replacing VH1 Classic Europe [7] and on March 3, 2020 replaced MTV Music in Poland. [8]

MTV Music 24 got replaced with MTV 90s in the Netherlands on 26 May 2021. [9] On June 1 2021, The channel was replaced by NickMusic in Central Europe, German-speaking countries and Spain [10] [11] [12] and in South Africa by MTV Hits, [13] closing in all regions. The last music video to be aired on the channel was "Your Love (9PM)" by ATB x Topic x A7S.

MTV (Australian and New Zealand TV channel)

MTV is a 24-hour general entertainment channel specialising in music and youth culture programming which serves Australia and New Zealand. It is operated by parent company ViacomCBS Networks UK & Australia headquartered in London with a local office in Sydney.

The Music Factory

The Music Factory (TMF) was an originally Dutch brand of television and radio channels operated focusing on pop music. It was similar to the American MTV which took over TMF in 2001.

TMF was a music video and entertainment channel in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The channel was owned by Viacom International Media Networks and was originally a Dutch channel. Formed after the two other TMF stations, which were based in mainland Europe, the channel was created to counter against EMAP's The Hits channel on the new free-to-air digital terrestrial television service Freeview in 2002.

ViacomCBS Networks Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia (EMEAA) is a division of ViacomCBS Networks International. Launched as MTV Networks Europe (MTVNE) in 1987, with two offices in London and Amsterdam. At the moment the unit's main headquarters are in Madrid, with additional offices in Lisbon, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Milan, Dubai, Johannesburg & Lagos, Budapest, Warsaw, Singapore, Moscow, Stockholm, Tokyo, Beijing, Manila, Copenhagen, Prague, Helsinki, Hong Kong SAR.

Nickelodeon is a children's channel broadcasting in Denmark, Norway and Finland. It broadcasts programming from the similarly branded channels in the United Kingdom and the United States as well as a few locally produced programmes.

The Dutch version of Nickelodeon, broadcasting in the Netherlands and through satellite in Belgium, and launched on 14 July 2003. In addition to the general Nickelodeon programmes, original productions such as ZOOP, Het Huis Anubis, and SuperNick are also broadcast. The Dutch Kids' Choice Awards were presented in three years, featuring nominees that are relevant to Dutch audiences. In 2010, the US Kids' Choice Awards aired, which included categories for the Netherlands and Belgium inserted into the broadcast.

Nick (German TV channel)

Nick is a German free-to-air television channel, part of the international Nickelodeon franchise. Originally launched in 1995, and relaunched in 2005, Nickelodeon is based in Berlin. The channel is available on subscription services and as an unscrambled, free-to-air (FTA) satellite signal. On 31 March 2010, the channel re-adopted the name Nickelodeon on air and online, in addition to the new Nickelodeon logo and graphical package being rolled out internationally at the time. Since then, the channel is also broadcast in English in addition to German on a secondary audio track.

Nickelodeon is a Belgian television channel that is derived from the Dutch Nickelodeon. The channel started in the summer of 2009 when it got its own programming. Via the satellite, the Dutch version is still being broadcast.

ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) is the international division of ViacomCBS. The division oversees the production, broadcasting and promotion of key ViacomCBS' brands outside of the United States. These brands include Paramount Network, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, BET and Colors TV, as well as CBS-branded channels, which are co-owned with AMC Networks International. VCNI also owns a 30% stake in the Rainbow S.p.A. animation studio in Italy, as well as a 49% stake in an Indian joint venture called Viacom18.

MTV (Dutch TV channel)

MTV Nederland and België is a Dutch speaking free-to-air television channel broadcasting in the Netherlands. It launched as MTV NL on 12 September 2000. Before the start of country-specific channels, the Pan-European version of MTV aired in the Netherlands.

Nickelodeon is a pay television network dedicated to kids. Nickelodeon is widely available throughout Europe as a subscription service or free-to-air service; depending on what region in Europe you are living in. Nickelodeon is seen in 24.2 million households throughout Europe, via channels and blocks.

NickMusic is a Dutch pay-TV music video channel for children in the Netherlands and Belgium. The channel is aimed at children from 5 to 15 years old and only plays music. The channel launched as Nick Hits on 2 August 2007 and was rebranded by NickMusic on 1 February 2017. It plays music from popular kid-friendly artists and groups internationally such as Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Miranda Cosgrove, Christina Aguilera, Pixie Lott, Robbie Williams, Sugababes and the Jonas Brothers as well as Dutch groups like ZirkusZirkus, Jan Smit, Nick & Simon, Ch!pz, KUS and Frisz.

MTV Music (British and Irish TV channel)

MTV Music is a British pay television channel operated by ViacomCBS Networks UK & Australia. The brand was first launched in the UK and Ireland before launching in Australia, New Zealand, Italy, the Netherlands and Poland. Unlike other MTV Music channels, This channel offers subtitles on selected programmes.

MTV Africa

MTV Africa is an African pay television from ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA. It focuses mainly on rebroadcasting MTV US content as well as airing local-produced reality series. Founded by Alex Okosi and launched as 'Africas MTV' alongside founding members Jandre Louw, Dudu Qubu and Maya Padmore.

MTV Base (African TV channel)

MTV Base is a 24-hour music channel from ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA. There are three different feeds of MTV Base Africa, with one catering for the South African audience known as MTV Base South, one for West Africa, and another for rest of Africa, although there have been criticisms the African feed broadcasts Nigerian music only.

MTV Hits (European TV channel) European television channel

MTV Hits is a 24-hour pop music television channel from ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA that launched on 27 May 2014, replacing MTV Hits UK & Ireland. The channel is widely available throughout Europe and Latin America, except Brazil.
