History
Situated on a 60-hectare site in 2006 by mountain-biking organisation DirTraction and the contractor company RMC Pte Ltd, the current Mountain Bike trail is ten-kilometre long and offers several climbs as well as a challenging contour line rides. The trail hosted the Phat Tyre Sunday Mountain Bike Race in 2007, involving more than 260 participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore.
The trail system is being upgraded to make it even more technically challenging, and in 2008, the bike park hosted BikeAsia100, a 100km mountain biking marathon race, and subsequently eneloop mountain bike carnival in 2009 with its marquee event, a 100km night mountain biking marathon race, one of the first around the region.
These mountain biking marathon event attracted riders from the region, bringing close to 700 participants in the 2009 edition.
The BMX portion of the park is currently used for dirt jumping by BMX enthusiasts. It is being developed into a full-scaled BMX race track for local community use and to host major international events.
The start and finish areas of the mountain bike and BMX courses in the bike park will be adjacent to one another, allowing the spectators the best possible view of both events.

Cycling at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 17 to 22 August. The event took place at The Float at Marina Bay for the road cycling and at Tampines Bike Park for the BMX and mountain biking.
Indonesia participated in the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore with 14 athletes. The team competed in a total of seven sports: archery, badminton, cycling, swimming, taekwondo, tennis, and weightlifting. According to the head of the national contingent, Ade Lukman, athlete training was conducted by individual managers of each sport. All athletes were gathered in Jakarta on 6 August for a cultural training session.
Boys' BMX was part of the cycling at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics program. The event consisted of a seeding round, then elimination rounds where after three races the top 4 would progress to the next round until the final where only a single race was held. It was held on 19 August 2010 at Tampines Bike Park. This was not an official individual event and therefore medals were not given. However the performance of the athletes provided points towards the Combined Mixed Team event for cycling.

Combined Mixed Team Event was the main event of cycling at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics program. Each team consisted of three boys and one girl. There were seven sub-events where cyclists competed with other teams in order to earn points; the team with the lowest points after the seven sub-events was declared the winner. Each boy raced in one of Cross Country, Time Trial and BMX while the girl competed in all three events, all three boys also raced in the Road Race. The event was held over the period of four days from 17 to 19 and 22 August 2010. The venues were at Tampines Bike Park for the Cross Country, Boys’ Time Trial and BMX and The Float at Marina Bay for Girls’ Time Trial and the Road Race.
