United States Lightship 101, known as Portsmouth, was first stationed at Cape Charles, Virginia. Today she is at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Museum in Portsmouth, Virginia. Portsmouth never had a lightship station, however when the vessel was dry docked there as a museum, she took on the pseudo-name, Portsmouth. A National Historic Landmark, she is one of a small number of surviving lightships.
Staunton River Battlefield State Park is a state park located in Virginia. The park straddles the Staunton River in Halifax and Charlotte counties. The Roanoke visitor center in Randolph, Virginia is a railroad depot which now holds exhibits on Native Americans and railroad history. The Clover visitor center has exhibits on the American Civil War and the battle which took place on this site. It also includes information about the production of electric energy. The park also includes the Mulberry Hill plantation, given to the state in 1999.
The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park is a Virginia museum, run as a state park, dedicated to preserving the history of the southwestern part of the state. It is located in Big Stone Gap, in a house built in the 1880s for Virginia Attorney General Rufus A. Ayers. It was designed and built by Charles A. Johnson. Construction began in 1888 and was completed in 1895.
The Bull Thistle Cave Archaeological Site is an archaeological site on the National Register of Historic Places, located in Tazewell County, Virginia. It is a vertical shaft pit burial cave. The distribution of the skeletal remains indicates that bodies were either thrown or lowered into the cave. On the surface of the cave floor, researchers have discovered the remains of a minimum of 11 bodies. Based on an artifact recovered from the site, it is estimated that the cave was used for burials between 1300 and 1600 AD.

The Oakwood–Chimborazo Historic District is a national historic district of 434 acres (176 ha) located in Richmond, Virginia. It includes 1,284 contributing buildings, three contributing structures, five contributing objects and four contributing sites. It includes work by architect D. Wiley Anderson. The predominantly residential area contains a significant collection of late-19th and early-20th century, brick and frame dwellings that display an eclectic mixture of Late Victorian, Queen Anne, and Colonial Revival styles.
The National Register Information System (NRIS) is a database of properties that have been listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places. The database includes more than 84,000 entries of historic sites that are currently listed on the National Register, that were previously listed and later removed, or that are pending listing. The database includes approximately 45 pieces of data for each listed property. Accuracy of the NRIS database may be imperfect. For example, a 2004 paper addressed accuracy of spatial location data for part of the NRIS content.
"A" Fort and Battery Hill Redoubt-Camp Early, also known as Measles Fort, is a historic American Civil War military facility and redoubt located near Manassas Park, Prince William County, Virginia.
Daugherty's Cave and Breeding Site is a Native American archaeological site in Russell County, Virginia, near Lebanon. The site includes materials dating from the Early Archaic Period to the time of European contact. Digs at the site have recovered large numbers of animal bones dating from the Middle Archaic Period.
