There are various modes of transportation available in Nellore and its region. It includes auto rickshaws, bicycles [1] to mass transit systems - such as buses, trains and ships. [2]

The city has a total road length of 1,189.95 km (739.40 mi). [3] The proposed Outer Ring Road, existing arterial and internal roads helps reduce traffic congestion. [4] It was proposed to construct an ORR with 72 km length and a width of 200 feet. [5] The city is connected with major National highways such as, National Highway 16, a part of Asian Highway 45 and Golden Quadrilateral, bypasses the city [6] and is connected to Vijaywada (280 Km), to Tirupati (124 Km) and to Chennai (175 Km) via National Highway (NH) 5, to Hyderabad (454 Km) via AH 45, to Bangalore (385 Km) via NH 4 . [7] One NH, two bypass national highways and five State Highways passes through the city. [8]

Nellore bus station of the city operates district and long distance services. [9] Government is planning to demolish the present APSRTC bus stand and erect a new structure in couple of years, such that the new bus station will house commercial establishments, offices and multiplex and would generate internal revenues for RTC. [10] Atmakur Bus station is metro bus station located in the city. [4] [11] Private owned auto rickshaws accounts to around 6,000, dominating most part of the city for local commuting. [4]

Nellore is one of the fourteen ‘A’ category stations and one of the ten model stations in the Vijayawada Railway Division of South Central Railway Zone. [12] Nellore railway station is having escalators on 4 platforms. [13] SCR recently installed Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVM)s in Nellore station. [14] It is amongst the top hundred booking stations of Indian Railway. [15] Other satellite stations include Nellore South (station code:NLS), [16] Vedayapalem (station code:VDE). [17] South Central Railway operates MEMUs between Nellore and Chennai. [18]

Airways

There is also a proposal to build a no frills airport for the city. [19] The district administration identified land of 3,408 acres under Damavaram, Dagadarthi, Velupodu and K.Kourugunta villages for the proposed airport in 2013 and subsequently the Airports Authority of India had expressed its interest for initial acquisition of 614 acres and the Government had accorded clearance in December 2015. Rajahmundry City in Andhra Pradesh, India

Rajahmundry, officially known as Rajamahendravaram, is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Located 200 km (120 mi) southwest of state's executive capital Visakhapatnam on the banks of Godavari River, it is the seventh most populated city in the state. During British rule, the District of Rajahmundry was created in the Madras Presidency in 1823. It was reorganised in 1859 and bifurcated into the Godavari and Krishna districts. Rajahmundry was the headquarters of Godavari district, which was further bifurcated into East Godavari and West Godavari districts in 1925. When the Godavari district was bifurcated, Kakinada became the headquarters of East Godavari and Eluru became the headquarters of West Godavari. It is administered under Rajahmundry revenue division of the East Godavari district. The city is known for its floriculture, history, culture, agriculture, economy, tourism, and its heritage. It is known as the "Cultural Capital of Andhra Pradesh".

Karipur International Airport, also known as Calicut Airport, is an international airport located in Karipur, Malappuram district of Kerala, India. It serves the Malabar region of Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad and Palakkad. It is situated 28 kilometres away from Kozhikode city and 25 kilometres away from Malappuram city. It serves two of the seven metropolitan areas in the state- Kozhikode metropolitan area and Malappuram metropolitan area. The airport opened on 13 April 1988. The airport serves as an operating base for Air India Express and operates Hajj Pilgrimage services to Medina and Jeddah from Kerala. It was the eleventh-busiest airport in India in terms of overall passenger traffic. It is the third-busiest airport in Kerala after Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. It received international airport status on 2 February 2006. It is one of few airports in the country with a tabletop runway.

Transport in Kollam

Transport in Kollam includes various modes of road, rail and water transportation in the city and its suburbs. State-owned Kerala State Road Transport Corporation buses, private buses, Indian Railways, state-owned Kerala State Water Transport Department boats & ferry, taxis and auto rickshaws are serving the city of Kollam. Eluru New bus station

Eluru New bus station is a bus station located in Eluru city of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is owned by Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation. This is one of the major bus stations in the state, with services to all the cities and towns and to other states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. It is one of the few stations equipped with 5G Internet service. The station is also equipped with a bus depot for storage and maintenance of buses.

Transport in Eluru

There are various modes of transportation available in Eluru and its region. It includes auto rickshaws, bicycles to mass transit systems – such as buses and trains. The city was once famed for its traffic problems with the railway gates at Vatluru, Venkatraopet, Powerpet, Old bus stand and Eastern Locks areas. When the National Highway passed through the city, the traffic hurried to pass over the railway gates in the city and outskirts, which makes traffic worse.
