Tugurt, also known as Oued Righ Berber and Temacine Tamazight, is a Zenati Berber variety spoken in some of the oases of the northeastern Oued Righ region around Touggourt in Algeria. As of 1893 [update] , its main speech area was in Temacine, Blidet-Amor, Meggarine and Ghomra. [2] It is closely related to the nearby Tumzabt (Mozabite) and Teggargrent (Ouargli) languages. [1]
The Zenati languages are a branch of the Northern Berber language family of North Africa. They were named after the medieval Zenata Berber tribal confederation. They were first proposed in the works of French linguist Edmond Destaing (1915) (1920–23). Zenata dialects are distributed across the central Berber world (Maghreb), from northeastern Morocco to just west of Algiers, and the northern Sahara, from southwestern Algeria around Bechar to Zuwara in Libya. The most widely spoken Zenati languages are Tmazight of the Rif in northern Morocco and Tashawit Berber in northeastern Algeria, each of which have over 3 million speakers.
The Mzab–Wargla languages or Northern Saharan oasis dialects are a dialect cluster of the Zenati languages, within the Northern Berber subbranch. They are spoken in scattered oases of Algeria and Morocco.
The Ghomara are a group of tribes in northern Morocco of about 12,000 people, living between the rivers Oued Laou and Ouringa, east of Chefchaouen and south of Tetouan, in the Western Rif. The river Tiguisas runs through their territory.
Touggourt is a city and commune, former sultanate and capital of Touggourt District, in Touggourt Province, Algeria, built next to an oasis in the Sahara. As of the 2008 census, the commune had a population of 39,409 people, up from 32,940 in 1998, and an annual growth rate of 1.8%. Touggourt's urban area includes the communes of Nezla, Tebesbest and Zaouia El Abidia, for a total population of 146,108.

Berkane Province is located in northeastern Morocco in the Oriental region. It is bounded by the Mediterranean to its north, the Kiss Oued and Oujda Prefecture in the east, Nador Province to the west, and Taourirt Province in the south. The Berkane Province includes under its jurisdiction the towns of Saïdia and Ahfir. The population of the city is 80,012 as of the 2004 census. The population originates primarily from Bni Iznasen, a major tribe which consists of Arab and Berber clans. The tribe's descendants are spread widely over the rest of eastern Morocco, usually in cities like Ahfir, Saïdia and Oujda. The eastern dialect of Moroccan Arabic is spoken by most of the citizens, although Berber is still spoken by some of the adults.

The Ait Yafelman are a large Berber tribal confederation of the eastern High Atlas of Morocco, with their capital at Imilchil. They consist of four tribes: Ayt Morghad, Ayt Haddidou, Ayt Izdeg and Ayt Yehia. These tribes created the alliance in the 17th century to counter the expansion of their Ait Atta neighbours. The Ait Yafelman speak Central Atlas Tamazight.

The wilaya of El M'Ghair is an Algerian province created in 2019, previously, a delegated wilaya created in 2015. It is in the Algerian Sahara. It received four titles when it was founded, so it was called Riyad Enakhil since 1848 after the fall of the resistance of Ahmed Bey in the eastern region of Algeria, and the migration of Arabs Bani Salim and Banu Hillal to it and its reconstruction, where Ahmed Bey resided there for three days after the fall of his resistance. It was called Petit Ziban when it belonged to the wilaya of Biskra, because it consists of reefs, steppes and valleys, in addition to small low mountains, and the jewel of Oued Righ because it mediates the Righ region between Biskra and Touggourt. It was also called the Oasis of Springs due to the abundance of various water springs in its palm oases, and the first spring was emitted in 1845.
