Tuti-Melur Railway Station (station code: TME) is a halt-railway station in the city of Thoothukkudi, Tamil Nadu, India. It is located in the heart of the city, at Meelavittan Salai. It comes under the Madurai railway division of the Southern Railway Zone and is one of the railway termini in the city. [1] It is located opposite Thoothukkudi New Bus Stand and at a distance of about 2.1 km (1.3 mi) from Perarignar Anna Bus Terminus, about 2.1 km (1.3 mi) from Tuticorin Railway Station, and about 16.9 km (10.5 mi) from Tuticorin Airport.
The station has a computerized booking office for ticket reservations and has allotted spacious spaces for passenger convenience. It is also equipped with a sufficient number of stone benches in the open and in the waiting sheds, built using cooling sheets on both platforms. [2]

Aruppukottai is a town and a municipality in Virudhunagar district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Aruppukottai's classical name is "Sengattu irukkai idathuvali". Aruppukottai is about 50 km from Madurai. It is in the middle of Vellore-Tuticorin National Highways NH-38. The town also hosts two famous temples – Arulmigu Meenakshi Chokkanatha Swamy Temple built in 13th century by Pandiya King Maravarma Sundarapandiyan and Seenivasa Perumal Temple Built on the top of Malai arasan Hill.
