The Dakota, also known as the Dakota Apartments, is a cooperative apartment building located on the northwest corner of 72nd Street and Central Park West in the Upper West Side of the borough of Manhattan in New York City, United States. Its construction was completed in 1884. The Dakota was the home of John Lennon, a former member of the Beatles, from 1973 until his murder in the archway of the building in 1980.
The 310 West Church Street Apartments, also known as the Ambassador Hotel, is a historic building located at 420 North Julia Street in Jacksonville, Florida, United States. On April 7, 1983, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
The Adena Court Apartments are an apartment building in downtown Zanesville, Ohio, United States. Built in 1906, the apartments are a well-preserved example of the Colonial Revival style of architecture of the early twentieth century.
The Hotel Kirkwood, also known as the Kirkwood Civic Center Hotel, is a historic building located in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, United States. The building was designed by the Chicago architectural firm of H.L. Stevens & Company and built in 1930. With its completion it became the largest hotel along Fourth Street between Walnut Street and Court Avenue, along Des Moines' "Hotel Row." It also marked the emergence of the skyscraper hotel in the downtown area. The new hotel replaced a previous Hotel Kirkwood that had been built on the same location in 1862. It was located near Union Station and the Rock Island Depot. Developers and owners of the 1930 Hotel Kirkwood were E.F. Tagney and S.F. McGinn. Art Deco details are found in the building's massing, the sleek exterior geometrical detailing, and treatment of the cornice. The 12-story brick structure rises to a height of 133 feet (41 m). It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. The building has subsequently been converted into an apartment building called "The Kirkwood."
The Milner Arms Apartments, originally known as the Hotel Stevenson, is a high rise building located at 40 Davenport Street in Midtown Detroit, Michigan; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. It is adjacent to, but not part of, the Cass-Davenport Historic District.
The Cass–Davenport Historic District is a historic district containing four apartment buildings in Detroit, Michigan, roughly bounded by Cass Avenue, Davenport Street, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. The Milner Arms Apartments abuts, but is not within, the district.
The Gladstone and Hawarden Apartment Buildings are historic twin buildings located in the Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Built in 1900 and 1901, the Gladstone and Hawarden are early examples of middle class apartment buildings in the city. They were designed in the Romanesque Revival architectural style by prominent local architect George S. Cooper. The buildings, since converted into condominiums and a housing cooperative, were added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1994.
The Santa Fe Apartments were an apartment building located at 681 Merrick Street in Detroit, Michigan. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and subsequently demolished by Wayne State University; the site is now the location of the Yousif B. Ghafari Hall.

The Kingston Arms, built in 1924, is a representative example of the rise of middle-class apartment buildings in pre-Depression era Detroit.
Parke Apartments, also known as Park Lane Condominium, is a historic apartment building located at Buffalo in Erie County, New York. It was designed and built in 1924-1925 by the H.L. Stevens & Company and is an early 20th-century high class apartment building modestly styled in the Second Renaissance Revival mode. It is a ten-story, concrete framed masonry building built of cream colored brick with light stone detail in a "T" shaped layout. Also on the property is a two-story former carriage house. It was converted from apartments to condomuniums in 1977.
LeClaire Hotel is an historic building located in downtown Moline, Illinois, United States. It was named a Moline Historic Landmark in 1993, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. The building now houses apartments and is known as the LeClaire Apartments.
The Congress Apartments are a historic apartment building in Bend, Oregon, United States, built in 1924. On the night of March 8, 1926, they were the scene of a dynamite explosion targeting A. F. Mariott, a State Prohibition Officer who lived in unit 5 with his wife. There were no injuries. Although police never identified any suspects, the attack was generally understood to be retaliation for the fatal shooting of Vayle Taylor, a suspected moonshiner in Crook County, on February 17. The attack highlights the extreme tensions between "wets" and "drys" in Central Oregon during the Prohibition era. Separately, the Congress Apartments possess high architectural value for their Craftsman styling, popular in Bend at the time but unusual among apartment buildings. Distinctive features include the use of disappearing, slide-out beds on the interior.
The Union Arcade is an apartment building located in downtown Davenport, Iowa, United States. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places by its original name Union Savings Bank and Trust. Originally, the building was built to house a bank and other professional offices. Although it was not the city's largest bank, and it was not in existence all that long, the building is still associated with Davenport's financial prosperity between 1900 and 1930. From 2014 to 2015 the building was renovated into apartments and it is now known as Union Arcade Apartments.
The Humble Oil Building, is a historic office building, designed in the Italian Renaissance architecture style, located at 1212 Main Street in Houston, Texas and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was constructed by Humble Oil and Refining Company in 1921. The tower section was added on to the building in 1936. The building complex served as the company headquarters for Humble Oil and Refining Company from 1921 until 1963, when the company moved into what is now the ExxonMobil Building at 800 Bell Street. In 2003, the building complex was renovated for use as a combination hotel and apartments, the apartment section was converted to additional hotel rooms in 2015.
The MacKinnon Apartments are a historic apartment building at 236 Third Street in Juneau, Alaska. It is a three-story wood frame structure, finished in stucco, with corner quoining and a dentillated cornice. When originally built in 1925, it was 80 feet (24 m) long and housed six single-bedroom and 12 studio apartments. In 1959 another 20 feet (6.1 m) were added, housing another five studio units. The building is a representative of Juneau's boom years in the 1920s, when the local gold rush peaked.
Uptown Suburbs Historic District, also known as Johnson Place, Sheraton Hill, The Parkway, Roland Park, and Emerywood, is a national historic district located at High Point, Guilford County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 759 contributing buildings, 2 contributing sites, and 12 contributing structures in a predominantly middle- to upper-class residential section of High Point. They were built between 1903 and 1963 and include notable examples of Colonial Revival architecture, Tudor Revival architecture, and Bungalow / American Craftsman architecture. Located in the district and listed separately are the Lucy and J. Vassie Wilson House, Dr. C. S. Grayson House, Hardee Apartments, J. C. Siceloff House, John H. Adams House, and A. E. Taplin Apartment Building. Another notable building is the Sidney Halstead Tomlinson House.
Manchester Apartments is a historic apartment building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1929, and is a three-story, Tudor Revival style brick building. It measures 40 feet wide and 210 feet long and features a gable front pavilion with stucco and decorative half-timbering. The building was remodeled in 1971. It is located immediately next to the Sheffield Inn.
Brown Apartments is a historic building located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States. Designed by local architect William J. Brown, this is an early example of an apartment suites building type and the first known English basement apartment building in the city. Other innovations from the time of construction include the janitor's living quarters, a common laundry room, and tenant storage areas. The building's first owners were Arthur and Elizabeth Brown. He was an ice cream manufacturer and marketer, and it is unknown if he was related to the architect. The four-story, brick structure features American Craftsman influences. The symmetrical facade consists of three projecting solarium bays between which are the entry ways into the building. Both of the entry porches has heavy wooden brackets, and each bay is capped with distinctive wood parapets that are supported by heavy timber brackets. Regionalist painter Marvin Cone lived in the building from 1920 to 1923. He dedicated two oil paintings to the Browns in lieu of rent. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.
