Following its reconstitution under the Local Government Act 1972, elections were held for Lancashire County Council on 12 April 1973. All 94 wards were up for election and all wards returned one councillor by FPTP, with the exception of Preston No. 1 and Preston No. 4, which returned two councillors each by plurality block voting. A Conservative majority was returned.

South Ribble is a local government district with borough status in Lancashire, England. Its council is based in Leyland. The borough also includes the towns and villages of Penwortham, Leyland, Farington, Hutton, Longton, Walmer Bridge, Salmesbury, Lostock Hall, Walton le Dale and Bamber Bridge. Many of the built-up areas in the borough form part of the wider Preston built-up area.

Elections to the Preston City Council took place on 3 May 2007.
Elections were held for Preston Borough Council in North West England, in May 2002. Held prior to the town being awarded city status, these elections took place following a boundary review which introduced new electoral wards as a consequence of population increase. Therefore, all councillors were up for election in the new wards for the first time.
