James Hugh Joseph Tate was an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the 92nd Mayor of Philadelphia from 1962 to 1972. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and the Philadelphia City Council. He was the first Roman Catholic to serve as mayor of Philadelphia.

The Buffalo Common Council is the legislative branch of the city of Buffalo, New York government. It is a representative assembly, with one elected member from each of nine districts: Niagara, Delaware, Masten, Ellicott, Lovejoy, Fillmore, North, University, and South. Boston City Council elections were held on November 15, 1983, with preliminary elections on October 11, 1983. This election transitioned the Council from having 9 members to having 13 members. All 13 seats were contested in both the preliminary and general election.

Farah N. Louis is an American politician. She is a member of the Democratic Party and is a member of the New York City Council for the 45th district, which includes the Brooklyn neighborhoods of East Flatbush, Flatbush, Flatlands, Marine Park, and Midwood.
