One member was elected for each of the 16 wards and an additional member in Park ward following the resignation of Brenda McGonigle. The Labour party won the election retaining control of the council and winning 11 seats, a gain of one. The Green party won three seats, the Conservatives two, a loss of one, and the Liberal Democrats one.
