The 2022 Reigate and Banstead Borough Council election took place on 5 May 2022 to elect members to Reigate and Banstead Borough Council in England coinciding with other local elections. Fifteen of the council's 45 seats were up for election. [1]
The Conservatives won eight of the fifteen seats available, retaining control of the council which they have held since 2000. The Green Party gained two seats, Horley East & Salfords and South Park & Woodhatch, from the Conservatives to remain the second-largest party. The only other seat to switch parties was Reigate which the Conservatives won from the independent incumbent Christopher Whinney. [1] [2]

Reigate and Banstead is a local government district with borough status in east Surrey, England. It includes the towns of Reigate, Redhill, Horley and Banstead. The borough borders the Borough of Crawley to the south, the Borough of Epsom and Ewell and District of Mole Valley to the west, Tandridge District to the east and the London Boroughs of Sutton and Croydon to the north.
The Borough of Guildford is a local government district with borough status in Surrey, England. With around half of the borough's population, Guildford is its largest settlement and only town, and is the location of the council.
Epsom and Ewell is a constituency in Surrey represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2001 by Chris Grayling, a Conservative.
East Surrey is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by Claire Coutinho, a Conservative. The seat covers an affluent area in the English county of Surrey.
