The Apocryphon Tour was a worldwide concert tour by American heavy metal band the Sword, in promotion of the band's 2012 fourth studio album Apocryphon . Beginning on October 29, 2012 in the United States, it is currently scheduled for nine legs with 163 shows in total, visiting countries in North America, Europe and Australasia. The Apocryphon Tour is the band's first full concert tour without original drummer Trivett Wingo, who left early into the Warp Riders Tour, and is also the first with current drummer Santiago "Jimmy" Vela III, who replaced Kevin Fender in October 2011.
The first dates confirmed for the Apocryphon Tour were the opening two legs in the United States between October and December 2012, which were announced on the band's official website on September 5, 2012 along with the European release information for Apocryphon. [1] Support acts for the opening 37 shows were also confirmed: Gpysyhawk as the primary support act at all shows, Eagle Claw as the third band for the first 23 shows, and American Sharks for the last 14 shows. [1] [2] Plans of a European leg in early 2013 were also revealed, [2] with the first dates officially confirmed by the Sword's European label Napalm Records later in September. [3]
A third North America headline leg of the tour was announced in June 2013, and will take place throughout July and August. [4]

The Sword was an American heavy metal band from Austin, Texas. Formed in 2003, the band was composed of vocalist and guitarist John D. Cronise, guitarist Kyle Shutt, bassist Bryan Richie and drummer Santiago "Jimmy" Vela III for most of its tenure. Originally signed to Kemado Records, the group released their debut album Age of Winters in 2006, the material for which had been largely written by Cronise prior to the band's formation. Gods of the Earth was released two years later, giving the group its first entry on the US Billboard 200 chart when it reached number 102.
The Black Ice World Tour was a 2008–2010 concert tour by Australian rock band AC/DC, in support of their fifteenth studio album Black Ice, which was released on 20 October 2008. This tour had 8 legs around the world lasting more than 20 months starting on 26 October 2008 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and finishing on 28 June 2010 in Bilbao, Spain.
The Sonisphere Festival was a touring rock music festival which took place across Europe between the months of June and August. The festival was owned by John Jackson and Kilimanjaro Live. It was jointly promoted by K2 and Kilimanjaro Live. It hosted heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Slayer, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold and Babymetal.
The New Moon Rising World Tour, also referred to as the Cosmic Egg Tour, was a concert tour by Australian rock band Wolfmother. The tour began on 17 September 2009 with a seven-show leg in Australia, followed by a short European tour in October, a North American leg comprising 24 shows and initially called for a second European leg in 2010. This was followed by an eleven show run in Australia, supporting AC/DC. The band then returned to North America, playing Lollapalooza and various other venues, including two shows in Mexico, and toured Asia and Australia in fall 2010. In early 2011, the band played the Big Day Out festivals in Australia and New Zealand. The tour then culminated after a round of festival and headlining dates in Europe over the summer, and went the studio to commence work on a third studio album. The tour was in support of the band's second album Cosmic Egg, and was the first to be completed by the four-piece lineup of the band formed in January 2009 after the original trio's breakup in August 2008.
The Final Frontier World Tour was a concert tour by Iron Maiden in support of the band's 15th album, The Final Frontier, which began on 9 June 2010 in Dallas and ended in London, England on 6 August 2011. The tour was announced on the band's official website on 5 March 2010 under the following statement:
"Iron Maiden are pleased to announce that their forthcoming new studio album will be called 'The Final Frontier', and is expected be released late summer of this year.
The announcement comes with news of a North American Tour with Very Special Guests Dream Theater to open in Dallas, Texas, on 9th June and finish in Washington, D.C. on 20th July, making it Maiden's most extensive North American tour in many years.
Following these shows in USA and Canada The Final Frontier World Tour will travel back to Europe for a few selected major festival and stadium shows with the band planning to continue to many other countries in 2011."
The Hellbilly Deluxe 2 World Tour was a worldwide concert tour by American rock band Rob Zombie that began in October 2009 in support of his fourth studio album Hellbilly Deluxe 2. The tour consisted of 12 legs spanning across Japan, North America, Europe and Australia. The tour marked the first time Zombie has performed internationally since the beginning of his solo career.
The Screaming Bloody Murder Tour is a concert tour by rock band Sum 41, taking place between 2010–11 and resuming again in 2012, in support of their fifth full-length studio album Screaming Bloody Murder.
The Warp Riders Tour is a 2010–2011 worldwide concert tour by American heavy metal band the Sword. Beginning on October 1, 2010 in the United States, the tour is in promotion of the band's upcoming 2010 third album Warp Riders, released on August 24, 2010. Following the United States leg of the tour, the band joined Soundwave, a travelling music festival, in Australia in 2011. They will then perform an additional 12 shows in Europe. Prior to the tour, the band supported Metallica on their continuing World Magnetic Tour in September, and during the tour they also performed at the Austin City Limits Festival, between October 8 and October 10.
The Reunion Tour is a concert tour by American rock band System of a Down, celebrating the band's reunion, after going on hiatus in 2006.
The Eighth Plague Tour was a concert tour by American heavy metal band Machine Head.
Supports in the first leg of Europe was come from the bands Bring Me the Horizon, Devildriver and Darkest Hour. Robb Flynn made a statement saying that: "This will no doubt be the heaviest show you're going to see this year. A lot of the greatest shows of our last touring cycle were in Europe and the UK, so the prospect of this lineup combined with these crowds has us extremely stoked to get out there and tear it up! New material, great venues, killer fans... we absolutely cannot wait!"
The Ceremonials Tour was the second concert tour by the English indie rock band Florence and the Machine. The tour included performances at music festivals because it is lead singer Florence Welch's favourite way to perform live. Welch had originally planned to spend over a year touring for Ceremonials before announcing that the December 2012 dates would be the final performances of the tour. On 25 February 2013, it was announced that Florence and the Machine would be playing at the Coke Live Music Festival in Poland on 10 August 2013, and, on 26 March 2013, it was announced that the band would be playing at Chime for Change's "The Sound of Change Live" concert at Twickenham Stadium in London alongside Beyoncé, Ellie Goulding and Haim, amongst others.
The Resolution Tour was a concert tour by American heavy metal band Lamb of God in support of the group's seventh studio album, Resolution, which was released in January 2012.
Apocryphon is the fourth studio album by American heavy metal band The Sword. Recorded at Magpie Cage Studios in Baltimore, Maryland with producer J. Robbins, it was released by New York label Razor & Tie in October 2012. Apocryphon is the band's first album without original member Trivett Wingo, and the first to feature his replacement Santiago "Jimmy" Vela III, who took over from interim touring drummer Kevin Fender in October 2011; it is also the first of the band's albums to be released by Razor & Tie, with whom the group signed in early 2012 after seven years with Kemado Records.
The Native Tour is the third headlining concert tour by American Pop rock band OneRepublic, in support of their third studio album Native (2013). OneRepublic were joined on the Native Summer leg of the tour by The Script and American Authors, and on the European "Native Fall Tour" leg by Kongos. The Redeemer of Souls Tour was a worldwide concert tour by English heavy metal band, Judas Priest, which was in support of Redeemer of Souls. It was their first tour since the conclusion of the Epitaph World Tour in 2012, which was originally dubbed as a farewell tour; the band has since retracted that statement.
The American Beauty/American Psycho Tour was a concert tour by American rock band Fall Out Boy. Supporting the band's sixth studio album American Beauty/American Psycho (2015), the tour visited North America and Europe in 2015. The North American leg was co-headlined with American rapper Wiz Khalifa under the name The Boys of Zummer. The Boys of Zummer leg with Wiz Khalifa ranked fifty-ninth for Pollstar's Year End Top 200 North American Tours of 2015, grossing $18.2 million.
The High Country Tour was an concert tour by American heavy metal band the Sword. Staged in support of the band's 2015 fifth studio album High Country, the tour visited venues worldwide in 2015 and 2016. Comprising six legs and 111 shows, the tour began in Trondheim, Norway at the Pstereo Festival on August 21, 2015 and concluded on May 28, 2016 in Dallas, Texas.
The Gypsy Caravan Tour was a worldwide concert tour by Australian hard rock band Wolfmother. Staged in promotion of their 2016 fourth studio album Victorious and named after a song on the album, it is visiting clubs and theatres throughout 2016. The tour began with a North American leg starting in Minneapolis on 24 February, which will be followed by a run of shows in Europe from 8 April. In the summer, the band will perform at a number of festivals in the United States, including Rock on the Range in Columbus, Ohio.
