Assam State Electricity Board Sports Club, or A.S.E.B Sports Club, is an Indian professional football club based in Guwahati, Assam. The club competes in GSA (Guwahati Sports Association) Super Division League, Bordoloi Trophy, A.T.P.A. Shield, Independence Day Cup, Bodousa Cup and other tournaments of Assam.

History

Assam State Electricity Board SC have won most titles in the GSA Super Division League. [1] Founded in 1975, the club has also participated in the National Football League II, then second tier of Indian football league system. [2] The club is owned by three successor companies of erstwhile Assam State Electricity Board - Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Limited (AEGCL) and Assam Power Generation Corporation Limited (APGCL).

Bordoloi Trophy Football tournament

Bordoloi Trophy, also known as the Bharat Ratna Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Trophy, is a premier annual Indian football tournament held in Guwahati and organized by Guwahati Sports Association (GSA). The tournament was first started in 1952 and is named after Assam's first chief minister Gopinath Bordoloi. Apart from some top clubs from India, clubs from Nepal, Bangladesh and Thailand also have participated in this trophy. Abahani Limited of Bangladesh lifted the 2010 trophy.

Independence Day Cup, is an Indian association football tournament held in Nagaon, Assam and organised by Nagaon Sports Association annually. The tournament was first started in 1947 days after Indian independence by the Nagaon Marwari Yubak Sangha and is one of the oldest football tournament in Assam.

The A.T.P.A. Shield, known as the Assam Tea Planters' Association Shield, is an annual Indian association football tournament held in Jorhat, Assam and organised by Jorhat District Sports Association. This is the third oldest football tournament of Assam after Independence Day Cup and Bordoloi Trophy. The tournament was donated and hosted by Assam Tea Planters' Association (ATPA). It was first held in 1955, and since then along with the best teams from northeast India many top clubs of the country like Mohammedan SC, Mohun Bagan AC and Dempo SC (Goa) have also participated in this leading tournament. From 1968, the tournament is organising by Jorhat District Sports Association.
