Bud Bud is located at 23°24′30″N87°32′34″E / 23.408319°N 87.54273°E .
Bud Bud is located on NH 19 (formerly known as Grand Trunk Road) in the laterite plains between Damodar River and Ajay River. [1] Khari or Khargeswari River flows through the area. It is believed that the river was earlier linked with Damodar.
It is nearly 30 kilometres (19 mi) from Durgapur Steel City and 36 kilometres (22 mi) from Burdwan town. It is close to Mankar railway station and a place surrounded with rice processing mills.
73.58% of the population of Bardhaman Sadar North subdivision live in the rural areas. Only 26.42% of the population live in the urban areas, and that is the highest proportion of urban population amongst the four subdivisions in Purba Bardhaman district. Bardhaman district, also spelled Burdwan or Barddhaman or Vardhaman) was a district in West Bengal. On 7 April 2017, the district was bifurcated into Purba Bardhaman district and Paschim Bardhaman district. The headquarters of the district was Bardhaman, and it housed the cities of Asansol and Durgapur. Great revolutionary Rashbehari Bose was born in village Subaldaha, Bardhaman district. Bengali poet Kumud Ranjan Mullick was born at Kogram and poet Kazi Nazrul Islam was born at Churulia in the same district. Notable persons like Prabhat Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Akshay Kumar Datta, Jatindranath Sengupta were also born in erstwhile Bardhaman district.
