Carbacephems are a class of synthetic antibiotics, based on the structure of cephalosporin, a cephem. Carbacephems are similar to cephems, but with a carbon substituted for the sulfur. [1]

It prevents bacterial cell division by inhibiting cell wall synthesis.

Loracarbef

Loracarbef is an antibiotic. It is a carbacephem, but it is sometimes grouped together with the second-generation cephalosporin antibiotics. Loracarbef is a synthetic "carba" analog of cefaclor, and is more stable.

Sulbactam is a β-lactamase inhibitor. This drug is given in combination with β-lactam antibiotics to inhibit β-lactamase, an enzyme produced by bacteria that destroys the antibiotics.
