Nevada is a state in the Western region of the United States. It is bordered by Oregon to the northwest, Idaho to the northeast, California to the west, Arizona to the southeast, and Utah to the east. Nevada is the 7th-most extensive, the 32nd-most populous, and the 9th-least densely populated of the U.S. states. Paradise is an unincorporated town and census-designated place (CDP) in Clark County, Nevada, United States, adjacent to the city of Las Vegas. It was formed on December 8, 1950. Its population was 191,238 at the 2020 census, making it the fifth-most-populous CDP in the United States; if it were an incorporated city, it would be the fifth-largest in Nevada. As an unincorporated town, it is governed by the Clark County Commission with input from the Paradise Town Advisory Board.
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is a public land-grant research university in Paradise, Nevada. The 332-acre (134 ha) campus is about 1.6 mi (2.6 km) east of the Las Vegas Strip. It was formerly part of the University of Nevada from 1957 to 1969. It includes the Shadow Lane Campus, just east of the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, which houses both School of Medicine and School of Dental Medicine. UNLV's law school, the William S. Boyd School of Law, is the only law school in the state.

Alice Costandina Titus is an American political scientist and politician who has been the United States representative for Nevada's 1st congressional district since 2013. She served as the U.S. representative for Nevada's 3rd congressional district from 2009 to 2011, when she was defeated by Joe Heck. Titus is a member of the Democratic Party. She served in the Nevada Senate and was its minority leader from 1993 to 2009. Before her election to Congress, Titus was a professor of political science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where she taught American and Nevada government for 30 years. She was the Democratic nominee for governor of Nevada in 2006.
Joseph Michael Lombardo is an American politician and former law enforcement officer serving as the 31st and current governor of Nevada since 2023. A member of the Republican Party, he was the 17th sheriff of Clark County from 2015 to 2023, capping a 34-year career in law enforcement.
The Nevada State Democratic Party is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the U.S. state of Nevada. It has been chaired by Daniele Monroe-Moreno since March 2023. It is currently the state's favored party, controlling all but one of Nevada's four U.S. House seats, both U.S. Senate seats, and both houses of the state legislature. The only statewide offices that the party does not control are the governorship, lieutenant governorship, and controllership, which are currently held by Republicans Joe Lombardo, Stavros Anthony, and Andy Matthews, respectively.

Suzanne Marie Lee is an American politician from the state of Nevada. A Democrat, she has served as the United States representative for Nevada's 3rd congressional district since 2019. Lee was the founding director of the Inner-City Games in Las Vegas and president of Communities In Schools of Nevada.
