Bayswater was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia from 1962 to 1968.
The district was based in the eastern suburbs of Perth. First contested at the 1962 state election, it was held for two terms by Merv Toms of the Labor Party, hitherto the member for Maylands. Bayswater was abolished at the 1968 state election, and Toms went on to become member for the new seat of Ascot.

Bayswater is a residential and industrial suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 27 km east of Melbourne's Central Business District. Its local government area is the City of Knox. At the 2016 Census, Bayswater had a population of 11,758.

Bligh was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It was created in 1962, partly replacing Paddington-Waverley and was an urban electorate, covering 13.03 km² and taking in the suburbs of Potts Point, Darling Point, Woolloomooloo, Elizabeth Bay, Rushcutters Bay, Edgecliff, Darlinghurst, Paddington, Surry Hills, Redfern, Darlington and part of Chippendale. It was a highly diverse electorate, as it contained both some of the wealthiest suburbs of Sydney, along the edge of the harbour, as well as some of the city's most disadvantaged areas, such as those around Redfern. This had the effect of making Bligh a marginal seat, although as the wealthier suburbs outnumbered the poorer suburbs, it tended to be Liberal-leaning. Independent Clover Moore defeated the incumbent Liberal member Michael Yabsley in 1988 and held the seat until its abolition in 2007, when it was replaced by the electoral district of Sydney.

It covers an area of 40 square kilometres (15 sq mi) in outer eastern Melbourne, and includes the suburbs of Bayswater, Heathmont, Kilsyth South and The Basin, and parts of Bayswater North, Boronia, Ringwood and Wantirna. It lies within the Eastern Metropolitan Region of the upper house, the Legislative Council.
Bayswater is a suburb 6 kilometres (4 mi) north-east of the central business district (CBD) of Perth, the capital of Western Australia. It is just north of the Swan River, within the City of Bayswater local government area. It is predominantly a low density residential suburb consisting of single-family detached homes. However, there are several clusters of commercial buildings, most notably in the suburb's town centre around the intersection of Whatley Crescent and King William Street, and a light industrial area in the suburb's east.

It was in the Darlinghurst area, bounded by Riley Street, William Street, King's Cross Road, Bayswater Road, Neild Avenue, Boundary Street and Oxford Street. It was abolished in 1904 and partly replaced by the electoral district of Darlinghurst.
Sydney-Fitzroy was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales, created in 1894 from part of East Sydney in inner Sydney including Woolloomooloo, Potts Point and Elizabeth Bay, and bounded by Riley Street, William Street, King's Cross Road, Bayswater Road and Port Jackson. It was named after Governor FitzRoy. It was abolished in 1904 and partly replaced by Darlinghurst.

The electorate had a population of 52,701 at the 2001 census.

John Mervin "Merv" Toms was an Australian politician who was a Labor Party member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1956 to 1971. He was appointed Speaker of the Legislative Assembly in July 1971, but served only a few months before dying in office.
