Heavy metal singing

Last updated

Heavy metal singing is a style of singing associated with heavy metal music.

According to KSL-FM , "heavy metal singers produce their harsh vocals differently than clean vocals. Heavy metal singers contract their airways in different ways. Done correctly, it enables them to safely produce the characteristic metal sound [...] I believe, [they] can even be generalized to a lot of different voicing populations [...] outside of metal." [1]

Hair metal is associated with a "crooning" style of singing. [2]
