Kairabah /kɛərəbɑː/ is a locality in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. [1]

Queensland is the second-largest and third-most populous state in the Commonwealth of Australia. On 28 November 2014, a portion of Yarrabilba was excised to create a new locality, Kairabah. [2] The name Kairabah was proposed by Lend Lease Group (the property developers) from a suggestion by the Yugambeh Museum. It means "Place of White Cockatoo" and is derived from the Yugambeh language. [1]
Yugambeh also known as Tweed-Albert Bandjalang, is an Australian Aboriginal language spoken by the Yugambeh living in South-East Queensland between and within the Logan River basin and the Tweed River basin, bounded to the east by the Pacific Ocean and in the west by the Teviot Ranges and Teviot Creek basin.
As at 2015, Kairabah is unoccupied. Roads and water infrastructure will be developed, followed by residential development over the following several years. [3]
