Kazhakoottam Railway Station (Code:KZK) is one of the 5 railway stations serving the Indian city of Trivandrum, Kerala. It is the 4th most revenue generating railway station in Trivandrum district. [1] The station falls under the Thiruvananthapuram railway division of the Southern Railway Zone of Indian Railways.

Thiruvananthapuram railway division Railway division of India

Thiruvananthapuram railway division (TVC) is one of the six administrative divisions of the Southern Railway Zone of the Indian Railways. It has its headquarters at Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of the state of Kerala. It is the southernmost railway division of India and manages 625 km of route track and 108 railway stations in the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The major stations of the division are Alappuzha, Aluva, Chengannur, Ernakulam Jn, Ernakulam Town, Kanyakumari, Kayamkulam Jn, Kochuveli, Kollam Jn, Kottayam, Thiruvananthapuram Central, Thrissur, and Varkala railway station.

A high resolution, LED-based integrated passenger information system has been introduced at Thiruvananthapuram central, Kollam, Ernakulam Jn and Thrissur, and will soon be introduced at Kazhakkoottam. Recently, a basic food kiosk has been added.[ citation needed ]

It is located at Kazhakoottam, which is significant for its proximity to Technopark, Sainik School, Kinfra Film and Video Park, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, DCSMAT media school, PRASAD film lab, Vismayas Max. [2]

Kazhakuttom is an IT, Industrial and residential area of Trivandrum city,the capital and largest metropolitan of the Indian state of Kerala. Established on 18 November 1990 by the Government of Kerala, under chief minister E K Nayanar, it is the largest information technology (IT) park in India in terms of developed area. As of 2015 Technopark has 10 million sq ft (930 thousand m2) of built-up area, and is home to over 400 companies, employing more than 56,000 professionals, and it is still expanding, adding another 37 hectares as part of Phase III expansion, and 423 acres (171 ha) as Technocity—an integrated IT township near Pallippuram.
