The Kensington community centered at E 115th St. was historically Italian. Today, the community is composed mostly of Hispanics from Mexico where you can find churches, food, and corner stores in the tightly knit residential community. [1]
Pullman, one of Chicago's 77 defined community areas, is a neighborhood located on the city's South Side. Twelve miles from the Chicago Loop, Pullman is situated adjacent to Lake Calumet.
West Pullman is a neighborhood located on the far south side of the city of Chicago, Illinois. It is one of the 77 official community areas of Chicago. The Neighborhood of West Pullman was largely inhabited by workers of the Pullman Train Company who were looking to escape the grip of the company town Pullman. The commercial corridor of Kensington/115th Street was one of many Italian communities within Chicago.
State Street is a large south-north street, also one of the main streets, in Chicago, Illinois, USA and its south suburbs. Its intersection with Madison Street has marked the base point for Chicago's address system since 1909. State begins in the north at North Avenue, the south end of Lincoln Park, runs south through the heart of the Chicago Loop, and ends at the southern city limits, intersecting 127th Street along the bank of the Little Calumet River. It resumes north of 137th Street in Riverdale and runs south intermittently through Chicago's south suburbs until terminating at New Monee Road in Crete, Illinois.

The DuSable Museum of African American History in Chicago is dedicated to the study and conservation of African-American history, culture, and art. It was founded in 1961 by Margaret Taylor-Burroughs, her husband Charles Burroughs, Gerard Lew, Eugene Feldman, Bernard Goss, Marian M. Hadley, and others. They established the museum to celebrate black culture, at the time overlooked by most museums and academic establishments. The museum has an affiliation with the Smithsonian Institution.

Kensington/115th Street is a commuter rail station on the far south side of Chicago that serves the Metra Electric Line north to Millennium Station and south to University Park and Blue Island. The station is located at 115th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue in the Pullman & West Pullman, Chicago neighborhoods. It is the last station for Blue Island Branch trains before those split off of the main line for Blue Island. As of 2018, the station is the 37th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 1,136 weekday boardings. The South Shore Line diverges to Indiana immediately south of this station. It had previously stopped at this station prior to February 15, 2012, with the reconfiguration of the junction to minimize congestion.

The house was designed in 1900 by Frank Lloyd Wright as a summer home for Stephen A. Foster, an attorney who worked for real estate developer who helped to build this part of the West Pullman neighborhood. It was designated a Chicago Landmark on May 9, 1996.

North Chicago Township was a township in Cook County, Illinois that was part of the City of Chicago. It comprised that part of pre-1889 Chicago north and east of the Chicago River. When Lake View Township to its north was annexed to Chicago in 1889, it was maintained as a township and not incorporated into North Chicago Township, so the latter continued to be bound to the north by Fullerton Avenue. Chicago residents voted to eliminate the townships in the city in 1902, including North Chicago Township; nevertheless, they remain in use for the purposes of property assessment.
South Chicago Township was a township in Cook County, Illinois that was part of the City of Chicago. It comprised that part of pre-1889 Chicago south and east of the Chicago River. When Lake and Hyde Park townships to its south were annexed to Chicago they were maintained as townships and not incorporated into South Chicago Township, which was bound to the south by modern-day Pershing Road. Chicago residents voted to eliminate the townships in the city in 1902, including South Chicago Township; nevertheless, they remain in use for the purposes of property assessment.
West Chicago Township was a township in Cook County, Illinois that was part of the City of Chicago. It comprised that part of pre-1889 Chicago west of the Chicago River. When various townships to its north and west were annexed to Chicago in 1889, they were maintained as townships and not incorporated into West Township. The township limits were North Av. to the north, the Chicago river to the east, Pershing (39th) St. to the south, and was bound to the west largely by Harlem Avenue. Chicago residents voted to eliminate the townships in the city in 1902, including West Chicago Township; nevertheless, they remain in use for the purposes of property assessment.
