The Leo Burnett Building, located on 35 West Wacker Drive at North Dearborn Street in the Chicago Loop, is a 50-story, 635 foot (193 m) tall skyscraper above the Chicago River's Main Stem on the southern bank. When built in 1989, it was the 12th tallest structure in Chicago. [1] It was designed by Kevin Roche-John Dinkeloo and Associates and Shaw & Associates. It is a postmodern design made with granite, masonry, glass, steel and concrete. The windows are divided by stainless steel bars, which is typical of "Chicago windows." [2]
It houses advertising agency Leo Burnett Worldwide, owned by Publicis, from which it derives its name. The building is also home to the law firm of Winston and Strawn and the restaurant Catch 35. Media services agency Starcom Worldwide, also owned by Publicis, has its headquarters located in the building. [3] RR Donnelley moved its corporate headquarters to this location in May 2015. Donnelly spinoff Donnelley Financial Solutions is also headquartered here. Publicis Media agencies Performics, Digitas and Spark Foundry moved into the building in 2018, as well as Publicis Sapient in 2019.

He was responsible for creating some of advertising's most well-known characters and campaigns of the 20th century, including Tony the Tiger, the Marlboro Man, the Maytag Repairman, United's "Fly the Friendly Skies", and Allstate's "Good Hands", and for garnering relationships with multinational clients such as McDonald's, Hallmark and Coca-Cola. In 1999, Burnett was named by Time as one of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century.

At 961 feet tall, it is the ninth-tallest building in Chicago and the 36th tallest in the United States. It was once the tallest reinforced concrete building in the world. 311 South Wacker was also the tallest building in the world known only by its street address, until it was surpassed in height by New York's 432 Park Avenue in 2015.

Finished in 1992, the building rises to a height of 668 ft with around 944,000 square feet (87,700 m2) of interior space. The building, with 50 floors, was designed by Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura. It was formerly known as the RR Donnelley Building when RR Donnelley was the primary tenant. RR Donnelley moved its corporate headquarters to a different location in May 2005, and in 2007 the building became the corporate headquarters of United Airlines. The deal included naming rights to the building.

The Kemper Building is a 522 ft (159m) tall skyscraper in the Loop area of Downtown Chicago, Illinois. It was completed 1962 and has 41 floors. When it was completed, it was the tallest marble-clad office building in Chicago. In March 2018, the building's namesake tenant Kemper Corporation announced it was leaving the building for the nearby Aon Center.
The Everett McKinley Dirksen United States Courthouse, commonly referred to as the Dirksen Federal Building, is a skyscraper in the Chicago Loop at 219 South Dearborn Street. It was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and completed in 1964. The building is 384 feet (117 m) tall with 30 floors; it was named for U.S. Congressman Everett Dirksen. The building houses the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States Bankruptcy Court, the United States Marshal for the Northern District of Illinois, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, and local offices for various court-related federal agencies, such as the Federal Public Defender, United States Probation Service, United States Trustee, and National Labor Relations Board. It is one of three buildings making up the modernist Chicago Federal Center complex designed by van der Rohe, along with Federal Plaza, the U.S. Post Office and the Kluczynski Federal Building. Separate from the Federal Plaza, but opposite the Kluczynski Building across Jackson Boulevard, is the Metcalfe Federal Building.

The proposed merger of Publicis and Omnicom was a proposed advertising industry merger between Publicis and Omnicom, announced on July 28, 2013. The resulting company would have been called Publicis Omnicom Group, and would have been the world's biggest advertising group with market capitalisation of $35.1 billion, pro-forma revenue of $22.7 billion, and more than 130,000 employees across the world. After the merger, Publicis Omnicom and WPP would have been the largest advertising groups in the world., followed at a distance by Dentsu and Interpublic Group of Companies. The Publicis and Omnicom chief executives heralded the proposed operation as a "merger of equals" saying that Publicis and Omnicom shareholders will each hold about 50 percent of the new group's equity. The group would have had head offices in Paris and New York.
The Trude Building was a 19th-century skyscraper that was located in Chicago. It was designed by Jenney & Mundie and was constructed in 1897 for A. S. Trude. It was demolished in 1912 in order clear way for an expansion of the Marshall Field and Company Building. This considered to have been one of the first demolitions, if not the first, of a skyscraper.
