List of German Formula Three champions

This article contains a list of German Formula Three champions. The championship has been in existence intermittently since 1950 [1] and has some former champions who later made Formula One. The most notable among these are seven-times world champion Michael Schumacher, [2] 2004 Monaco Grand Prix winner Jarno Trulli and multiple podium finisher Nick Heidfeld. Nine-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen and 2005 DTM champion Gary Paffett also won the series early in their respective careers.

The Masters of Formula 3 was a Formula Three race held annually, usually at the Circuit Park Zandvoort in the Netherlands. Due to noise restrictions in the Zandvoort area, the 2007 and 2008 races were held in the Belgian circuit of Zolder. However, it returned to Zandvoort for the 2009 race.

The 2006 Formula 3 Euro Series season was the fourth championship year of Europe’s premier Formula Three series. As in previous years, there were ten rounds – each with two races – held at a variety of European circuits. Each weekend consisted of one 60-minute practice session and one qualifying session, followed by one c.110 km race and one c.80 km race. In a revised qualifying system that used only one session, the starting order for race 2 was determined by the finishing order of race 1, with the top eight positions reversed.

During its history, Alfa Romeo has competed successfully in many different categories of motorsport, including Grand Prix motor racing, Formula One, sportscar racing, touring car racing and rallies. They have competed both as a constructor and an engine supplier, via works entries and private entries. The first racing car was made in 1913, three years after the foundation of A.L.F.A., the 40/60 HP had 6-litre straight-4 engine. Alfa Romeo quickly gained a good name in motorsport and gave a sporty image to the whole marque.

The German Formula Three Championship was the national Formula Three championship of Germany, and the former West Germany, from 1950 to 2002, then as Formel 3 until 2014. In 2003, the series had merged with the French Formula Three Championship to form the Formula 3 Euro Series. The lower-level series, the ATS Formel 3 Cup, subsequently operated in Germany, but it folded after the end of the 2014 season. Since the late 1980s, the list of German F3 champions has included many notable drivers, including Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher and nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen.

The 1973–74 DDR-Oberliga was the 25th season of the DDR-Oberliga, the first tier of league football in East Germany.

Van Amersfoort Racing is an auto racing team based in the Netherlands. The team currently competes in the Formula 2 Championship, the Formula 3 Championship, the Formula Regional European Championship, and the Italian F4 Championship.

The DHL Fastest Lap Award is given annually by the courier, Formula One global partner and logistics provider DHL "to recognise the driver who most consistently demonstrates pure speed, with the fastest lap at the highest number of races each season", and to reward the winning driver for "characteristics such as excellent performance, passion, can-do attitude, reliability and precision". First awarded in 2007 by DHL, the trophy's official naming patron, it is presented to the driver with the highest number of fastest laps over the course of the season, with one point awarded to the fastest lap holder of a Grand Prix. In the event of a tie, there is a countback and the driver with the highest number of second-fastest laps earns the award. If this is also tied, third-fastest laps are considered, and so on, until a winner is found. The trophy is presented to the winning driver at the final round of the season.

The Austria Formula 3 Cup is an open wheel racing series based in Austria. The series has run since 1982 and regular visits such circuits as the Salzburgring and the Red Bull Ring in Austria, the Autodrom Most and the Brno Circuit in the Czech Republic and the Hockenheimring in Germany. It's now called the "Drexler-Automotive Formel 3 Pokal" for the main Cup and "Drexler-Automotive Formel 3 Trophy" for the B division older chassis cars.

The 2012 ATS Formel 3 Cup was the tenth edition of the German F3 Cup and the inaugural edition with one-make Volkswagen Power Engines. The Cup class is open for cars built between 2008 and 2011 and equipped with the new Volkswagen engine, while cars built between 2002 and 2007 with conventional Formula Three engines will race in the Trophy class. The season began on 4 May at Circuit Park Zandvoort and ended on 30 September at Hockenheim after nine race weekends, totalling 27 races.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Pascal Wehrlein</span> German and Mauritian racing driver (born 1994)

Pascal Wehrlein is a German and Mauritian racing driver currently competing in Formula E for Porsche. He previously raced in Formula One for the Sauber and Manor teams. Holding dual nationality of Germany and Mauritius, he raced under the German flag in Formula One. He had previously raced in DTM, winning the title with the Mercedes-Benz team HWA AG in 2015. In 2013, Wehrlein became the youngest driver to start a DTM race at the age of 18, in 2014, he became the youngest driver to take pole position and a race win at the age of 19, and the following year, he was the youngest to win the title, at the age of 20.

The 1974 ADAC Preis der Formel 3 was a multi-event motor racing championship for single-seat open wheel formula racing cars held in Germany and Austria. The championship featured drivers with an ONS licence, competing in two-litre Formula Three racing cars which conformed to the technical regulations, or formula, for the championship. It commenced on 5 May at Neubiberg and ended at Nürburgring on 8 September after ten rounds.

The East German Formula Three Championship was the Formula Three racing competition in East Germany.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Tim Tramnitz</span> German racing driver (born 2004)

Tim Tramnitz is a German racing driver who is set to compete in the 2024 FIA Formula 3 Championship for MP Motorsport. He is the 2021 Italian F4 and ADAC F4 runner-up, and he also finished third in the 2023 Formula Regional European Championship.

The 2022 Drexler-Automotive Formula 3 Cup was the 41st Austria Formula 3 Cup season and the fourth Drexler-Automotive Formula 3 Cup season.

The 2023 Drexler-Automotive Formula Cup was the 42nd Austria Formula 3 Cup season and the fifth season since Drexler-Automotive took over the title sponsoring of the series.
