List of Zords

Last updated

In the Power Rangers franchise, a Zord is a type of mecha that is often piloted by a Power Ranger. Most Zords can combine to form a humanoid robot known as a Megazords. But there are some Zords that can form a Megazord independently. Some Zords such as the Red Battlezord are human form by default or the Tigerzord can transform independently, in those two instances the Red Battlezord and Tigerzords are not considered "Megazords" and just "Zords". The Zords used by the team at any time will have a theme, such as dinosaurs, mythical creatures, or animals associated with fighting-styles.

Power Rangers is an American entertainment and merchandising franchise built around a live-action superhero television series, based on the Japanese tokusatsu franchise Super Sentai. Produced first by Saban Entertainment, second by BVS Entertainment, later by Saban Brands, and today by SCG Power Rangers and Hasbro, the Power Rangers television series takes much of its footage from the Super Sentai television series, produced by Toei Company. The first Power Rangers entry, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, debuted on August 28, 1993, and helped launch the Fox Kids programming block of the 1990s, during which it catapulted into popular culture along with a line of action figures and other toys by Bandai. By 2001, the media franchise had generated over $6 billion in toy sales.

Mecha fictional walking vehicle

The term mecha may refer to both scientific ideas and science fiction genres that center on giant robots or machines (mechs) controlled by people. Mechas are typically depicted as humanoid mobile robots. The term was first used in Japanese (meka) after shortening the English loanword mekanikaru ('mechanical'), but the meaning in Japanese is more inclusive, and "robot" (robotto) or "giant robot" is the narrower term.

Tyrannosaurus Large predatory Cretaceous dinosaur

Tyrannosaurus is a genus of coelurosaurian theropod dinosaur. The species Tyrannosaurus rex, often called T. rex or colloquially T-Rex, is one of the most well-represented of the large theropods. Tyrannosaurus lived throughout what is now western North America, on what was then an island continent known as Laramidia. Tyrannosaurus had a much wider range than other tyrannosaurids. Fossils are found in a variety of rock formations dating to the Maastrichtian age of the upper Cretaceous Period, 68 to 66 million years ago. It was the last known member of the tyrannosaurids, and among the last non-avian dinosaurs to exist before the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event.

Jason Lee Scott is a fictional major character in the Power Rangers franchise, played by actor Austin St. John. Jason is known as the original Red Ranger from the first entry of the franchise, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, as well as the leader of the first team of Power Rangers. Mastodon genus of mammals (fossil)

Mastodons are any species of extinct proboscideans in the genus Mammut, distantly related to elephants, that inhabited North and Central America during the late Miocene or late Pliocene up to their extinction at the end of the Pleistocene 10,000 to 11,000 years ago. Mastodons lived in herds and were predominantly forest-dwelling animals that fed on a mixed diet obtained by browsing and grazing with a seasonal preference for browsing, similar to living elephants.

After reganing control of their zords, it was decided that Zedd was too powerful a threat for the Dinozords to combat. Thus, Zordon and Alpha 5 transformed the Dinozords, with the power of thunder, into the Thunderzords. Later, Zordon and Alpha would create the Tigerzord for the newly created White Ranger. Both the Red Dragon and White Tiger both had warrior modes and were capable of independent hand to hand combat.

Thunder sound caused by lightning

Thunder is the sound caused by lightning. Depending on the distance from and nature of the lightning, it can range from a sharp, loud crack to a long, low rumble (brontide). The sudden increase in pressure and temperature from lightning produces rapid expansion of the air within and surrounding the path of a lightning strike. In turn, this expansion of air creates a sonic shock wave, sonic boom, often referred to as a "thunderclap" or "peal of thunder".
