The 118th United States Congress, which began on January 3, 2023, and ended on January 3, 2025, has enacted 274 public laws and zero private laws. [1] [2] [3]

Contents

In contrast with previous Congresses, which generally enacted their first laws no later than January or February, the 118th Congress's first law was enacted on March 20. [4] It has been called one of the least productive Congresses since 1951, [5] being compared to the 113th Congress or the 92nd Congress. [6]

The United States Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, also known as the Senate Banking Committee, has jurisdiction over matters related to banks and banking, price controls, deposit insurance, export promotion and controls, federal monetary policy, financial aid to commerce and industry, issuance of redemption of notes, currency and coinage, public and private housing, urban development, mass transit and government contracts.

The Adams Memorial is a proposed United States presidential memorial on the National Mall to honor Founding Father and second President John Adams and his legacy. The U.S. Congress has created the Adams Memorial Commission to oversee the planning and construction of the Memorial. Commissioner Jackie Gingrich Cushman serves as the Chairman of the Adams Memorial Commission.

Brendan Francis Boyle is an American politician serving as a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing a district in the Philadelphia area since 2015. Since January 2023, he has served as Ranking Member of United States House Committee on the Budget. He represented the 13th district from 2015 to 2019, serving much of Northeast Philadelphia and most of suburban Montgomery County. Since 2019, he has represented the 2nd district, which is entirely within the City of Philadelphia, including all of Northeast Philadelphia and portions of North Philadelphia and Center City Philadelphia, largely east of Broad Street. Boyle represented the 170th district in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015.
