List of schools in the Gisborne District

This is a list article of schools located in the Gisborne District of New Zealand. [1] [2]

School uniform is now fast becoming the norm at primary school and pre-school. Before 2000, only intermediate and high school students had school uniform.

Kura Kaupapa Māori schools are schools for children aged 3–14 who learn fully in the Māori language. This starts at Kohanga Reo which is the Māori equivalent of kindergarten.

This list does not include proposed schools such as Waikirikiri High School. The area where it was supposed to be built is now a sports field and park, Waikirikiri Reserve.

The rolls given here are those provided by the Ministry of Education, based on figures from March 2022. [3]

Whakatāne Town in Bay of Plenty, New Zealand

Whakatāne is a town in the eastern Bay of Plenty region in the North Island of New Zealand, 90 kilometres (56 mi) east of Tauranga and 89 kilometres (55 mi) north-east of Rotorua, at the mouth of the Whakatāne River. Whakatāne District is the encompassing territorial authority, which covers an area to the south and west of the town, excluding the enclave of Kawerau.

Te Awamutu is a town in the Waikato region in the North Island of New Zealand. It is the council seat of the Waipa District and serves as a service town for the farming communities which surround it. Te Awamutu is located some 30 kilometres (19 mi) south of Hamilton on State Highway 3, one of the two main routes south from Auckland and Hamilton.

Thames High School is a public high school in Thames, Waikato, New Zealand. Established in 1880, it is the second oldest secondary school in the former Auckland Province.

Hamilton Girls' High School is a state single sex secondary school located in central Hamilton, New Zealand. The school caters for students in Years 9 to 13.

Western Heights High School is a state co-educational secondary school located in the northwestern suburbs of Rotorua, New Zealand. Southern Cross Campus is a composite school that caters for students in Years 1-13 in the suburb of Mangere East in Auckland, New Zealand. Papakura High School (PHS) is a co-educational state secondary school based in the Auckland suburb of Papakura in New Zealand, catering for students from Year 9 to Year 13.

Western Springs College is a state co-educational secondary school located in Western Springs, an inner suburb of Auckland, New Zealand. The school educates approximately 1739 students, from Years 9 to 13. The school was originally part of Seddon Memorial Technical College, but was moved to the current Western Springs site in 1964.

Hagley College State co-ed secondary (years 9–15) school

Hagley College, is a state secondary school in inner-city Christchurch, New Zealand. Prior to 1966 the school was Christchurch West High School, which was founded in 1858.

Kaiti, New Zealand Suburb of Gisborne in New Zealand

Kaiti is a suburb of the New Zealand city of Gisborne. It is located immediately to the east of the city centre, on the opposing bank of the Waimata River.

Ruatoki or Rūātoki is a district in the eastern Bay of Plenty of New Zealand, just south of the small town of Tāneatua and approximately 20 km south of the city of Whakatāne. The Whakatāne River runs northwards through the Ruatoki Valley and has formed broad alluvial flats. The main settlement of Ruatoki North is on the eastern side of the river.
