Miss World Netherlands is a national pageant to select the Netherlands' representative to the Miss World pageant. he pageant was first organized in 1951 and it is not related to Miss Nederland. [1]

History

In 1951 the Netherlands made its debut at the Miss World pageant. The first national pageant of Nederland was held in the year 1929. Previously, the pageant was called as "Miss Holland" contest, but between 1932-1949 the pageant was stopped and resumed again in 1951 under Miss Holland Organization.

Titleholders

Between 1951-1990 Netherlands was competed at the Miss World contest by Miss Holland 1st Runner-up or sometimes, Winner. While in 1991-2008 the Miss Netherlands selected the official candidate to the Miss World pageant. Between 1990 and 2008 Miss World Netherlands had selected by Miss Netherlands (Another agency Hans Konings). Between 2009 and 2015 Miss Nederland by Kim Kotter selects a runner-up to Miss World. Since 2016 the Miss World Netherlands is holding an official pageant to select a national winner for Miss World. The new franchise holder in the Netherlands, Katia Maes produced several successful Dutch young women in different pageants worldwide.

The United States has continuously sent a representative to Miss World since its inception in 1951. The United States has won the Miss World crown three times in 1973, 1990 and 2010. Currently, Miss World America is the official national pageant that selects the contestant from the United States to Miss World.

New Zealand at Miss World

New Zealand has contested 46 Miss World pageants since that pageant's inception in 1951. No New Zealander has won the Miss World title, although two have placed first runner-up.

Miss Universe Sweden is a beauty pageant, qualifying delegates to the Miss Universe competition. The first national final was held on June 6, 2009, the National Day of Sweden. Among the judges were Yvonne Ryding, Miss Universe 1984. The pageant is a late branch of the Miss Sweden contest. The director of the contest is Joakim Granberg of the Starworld Entertainment Corporation.

Miss World 2015

Miss World 2015, the 65th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 19 December 2015 at the outdoor arena of the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China. 114 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Rolene Strauss of South Africa crowned her successor Mireia Lalaguna of Spain at the end of the event. It was the first time in the history of Miss World that Spain won the pageant.

Miss Queen Korea is a national beauty pageant responsible for selecting South Korea's representative to the Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Supranational pageant. The first Miss Queen Korea pageant was held on August 22, 2018.

Miss Earth Netherlands is a national beauty pageant responsible for selecting the Netherlands' representative for the Miss Earth pageant.
