Stratton Mountain is a mountain located in Windham County, Vermont, in the Green Mountain National Forest. The mountain is the highest point of Windham County, and of the southern Green Mountains generally. A fire tower located on the summit is generally open for climbing by the public. There is also a small caretaker cabin at the summit that is inhabited in season by a caretaker from the Green Mountain Club.
Grand Canyon Village Historic District comprises the historic center of Grand Canyon Village, on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. The Roosevelt Lodge Historic District comprises the area around the Roosevelt Lodge in the northern part of Yellowstone National Park, near Tower Junction. The district includes 143 buildings ranging in size from cabins to the Lodge, built beginning in 1919. The Lodge was first conceived as a field laboratory for students and educators conducting research in the park. It later became a camp for tourists, specifically designed to accommodate automobile-borne tourists. The Lodge is a simplified version of the National Park Service Rustic style.
The Shadow Mountain Lookout, also known as the Shadow Mountain Patrol Cabin, was built in Rocky Mountain National Park in 1932, to the design of the National Park Service San Francisco Landscape Architecture Division. It was regarded as one of the best National Park Service Rustic buildings in the national park system. It is now the only fire lookout surviving in Rocky Mountain National Park. Three other lookouts, now gone, were located at Twin Sisters Peak, the north fork of the Thompson River and near Long's Peak. The lookout was built by Civilian Conservation Corps labor.
The Twin Sisters Lookout, also known as the Twin Sisters Radio Tower and the Twin Sisters Shelter Cabin, was built by the U.S. Forest Service in 1914, the year before the establishment of Rocky Mountain National Park. The rustic stone structure was taken over by the National Park Service in 1925. The one-story building has an arched roof with a trap door to provide access when snow has drifted over the ground-level door. From 1914 to 1969 the shelter served as accommodations for fire observation crews at a nearby frame lookout, which has since vanished. The building is now used as a radio repeater station.

The Arctic Point Fire Lookout is a 72-foot (22 m) tall fire tower located near Big Creek, Idaho. It was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1994. Its NRHP listing included two contributing buildings, a log cabin residence and a standard type outhouse, as well as one contributing structure, the fire tower itself.
The Big Springs Lookout Tower is a fire lookout tower in Kaibab National Forest near Big Springs, Arizona. The tower was built in 1934 for the U.S. Forest Service by contractors from Kanab, Utah. The steel tower is 100 feet (30 m) tall and features a 7-foot (2.1 m) square cab at the top. A wood frame cabin is located near the base of the tower; the cabin was built in 1959 to replace an older log cabin.

The Prospect Peak Fire Lookout is a fire lookout station located on Prospect Peak in Lassen Volcanic National Park, near the city of Mineral, California. The lookout, which was built circa 1912, is one of the oldest extant U.S. Forest Service fire lookouts in the United States. The wood frame building is square with a pyramidal roof; its walls are mostly composed of tall windows, with shiplap siding below the windows and on the roof. This design was a standard design used by U.S. Forest Service fire lookouts at the time, and several of the other contemporary lookouts in the national park also used this style of construction. The lookout is likely now the only surviving station with this design. Though the station was ultimately abandoned and has lost its original windows and roof shingles, it is otherwise intact.
The Crossroads Fire Tower is a fire lookout tower at 2262 Arkansas Highway 133 North in Ashley County, Arkansas. The tallest tower of its type in Arkansas, it is located north of Crossett and west of Hamburg, which is just north of the junction of Highway 133 and Ashley County Highway 12. It was built by the Aermotor Company and installed by a Civilian Conservation Corps crew in 1935. When built it was 100 feet (30 m) tall, but an additional 20 feet (6.1 m) was added sometime between 1936 and 1943. The tower is of galvanized steel construction, although the staircase landings and treads are wooden. The tower has a viewing cabin at the top with adjustable glass panes.
The Three Fingers Lookout is a historic fire observation building on one of the summits of Three Fingers Mountain in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Snohomish County, Washington. Built in 1930 in an extremely challenging location, it is one of the oldest surviving observation posts in the forest. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, and is now maintained by a local climbing group.
The Whaleback Snow-Survey Cabin, about 10 miles (16 km) north of Prospect in the Rogue River–Siskiyou National Forest in southwest Oregon, is a log cabin with a "snow tower" built in 1937. It is situated on the east slope of Whaleback Mountain. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
