At 92 hectares (230 acres), Tooting Commons in the south of the borough, between Balham and Streatham are Wandsworth's largest public open space (not shared with any other borough). It is followed by 83-hectare (210-acre) Battersea Park. This has Battersea Park Nature Areas, the borough's only local nature reserve. Wandsworth Common, to the south of Clapham Junction bisected by a railway line is the third largest park, at 73 hectares (180 acres).
Wimbledon and Putney Commons are very large open spaces, 479 hectares (1,180 acres) in total, partly within the borough, to the south of Putney and Roehampton, and are managed by a board of Conservators rather than any individual borough.
Battersea is a district of South West London, England, within the London Borough of Wandsworth. It is located on the south bank of the River Thames, 2.9 miles (4.7 km) southwest of Charing Cross.
Roehampton is a suburban district in southwest London, in the Putney SW15 postal district, and takes up a far western strip running north to south of the London Borough of Wandsworth. It occupies high land in the south that adjoins its northern part, Richmond Park, Richmond Park Golf Courses, and Putney Heath. At its southern extreme, it forms an east–west strip heritage conservation area and a street built in the 1980s comprising Roehampton Vale. The Vale straddles the A3 which in turn adjoins many sports pitches, Putney Vale, and Wimbledon Common. Altogether, Roehampton takes up a long area between the former village of Barnes to the north, Putney to the east, and the green areas around its southern part, beyond which are Kingston Vale and Raynes Park, uniquely in its borough distant from a railway station. Roehampton's most densely populated area has a long border with the largest of London's Royal Parks, Richmond Park. The area is centred about 6.3 miles south-west of Charing Cross and gained its first church in the 19th century in its narrow central conservation area between the Alton Estate and Dover House Estate.

The population of Earlsfield at the 2001 Census was 12,903, increasing to 15,448 at the 2011 Census.

This includes Wimbledon Common, Epping Forest, Hampstead Heath, and the eight Royal Parks: Hyde Park, Regent's Park, Richmond Park, etc. In recent years access to canals and rivers, including the Regent's Canal, and the River Thames has been greatly improved, and as well a number of long-distance walking routes have been created that link green spaces.

Garratt Lane is a long street in the London Borough of Wandsworth, part of the A217 road. It connects Wandsworth High Street to Tooting Broadway and is approximately 4 kilometres long. It passes through Earlsfield and Summerstown, before their late 19th century development, fields of Wandsworth.
Wandsworth was a local government district within the metropolitan area of London, England from 1855 to 1900. It was formed by the Metropolis Management Act 1855 and was governed by the Wandsworth District Board of Works, which consisted of elected vestrymen.
