PlayStation Experience, also known as PSX, is an annual event for the video game industry presented by Sony Interactive Entertainment used to reveal and advertise PlayStation games and game-related merchandise. The event is open to the public and showcases various panels and many unreleased games, with playable demos. [1]

2002

The first PlayStation Experience was held alongside the European Computer Trade Show at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre in August 2002. [2] Over 20,000 people attended over the three days. [3]

2003

The second PlayStation Experience took place at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre as part of London Games Week, from August 28–31, 2003. [3] [4]

North America

2014

PlayStation Experience returned in the United States, at Sands Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada from December 6–7, 2014, marking the 20th anniversary of the PlayStation. [5]

2015

The second PlayStation Experience event was held at Moscone Center in San Francisco, California from December 5–6, 2015. [9] [10]

2016

The third PlayStation Experience event was held at Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California from December 3–4, 2016. [11]

2017

The fourth PlayStation Experience event was held again at Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California from December 9–10, 2017. [12]

South East Asia

2017

The first South East Asia PlayStation Experience event was held at KL Live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from August 5, 2017. [13]

2018

The second South East Asia PlayStation Experience event was held at GMM Live House in Bangkok, Thailand between August 18–19, 2018. [14] [15]

The Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011 was the 17th E3 held. The event took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California. It began on June 7, 2011, and ended on June 9, 2011, with 46,800 total attendees. E3 2011 was broadcast on the G4 channel.

Sony has released a number of previously released PlayStation video games, remastered in high-definition (HD) for their newer consoles, a form of porting. A number of related programs exist, the most prominent two being "Classics HD" and "PSP Remasters". The former consists of multiple PlayStation 2 games compiled on one Blu-ray Disc. The latter are individual PlayStation Portable games republished on Blu-ray. These games are not direct ports, but remastered versions in high-definition, to take advantage of the newer consoles' capabilities. The remastering of the games include updated graphics, new textures, and Trophy support, and some of the remastered games released on PlayStation 3 have included 3D and PlayStation Move support. Some HD remasters have also been released individually or in bundles as downloads on the PlayStation Store; others are released exclusively as downloads.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo 2012 was the 18th E3 held. The event took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California. It began on June 5, 2012, and ended on June 7, 2012, with 45,700 total attendees. It was televised on Spike and streamed online to computers, mobile devices, PlayStation Home and on Xbox Live via IGN's application. This was the last event to be broadcast by G4 along with being the last one to feature a physical press conference by Nintendo which mainly focused on games that were coming to the then upcoming Wii U video game console that launched later that year and was later considered to be a commercial failure.

The SXSW Gaming Awards were awards given to video games during the annual South by Southwest Festival (SXSW), held in Austin, Texas typically in March of that year. The Awards were part of the SXSW Gaming Expo which is part of the SXSW Interactive branch of the festival.
