Quality Control Music, LLC [1] (also known as Quality Control or QC) is an American hip hop record label founded by Kevin "Coach K" Lee (COO) and Pierre "P" Thomas (CEO) in March 2013. [2] The label's releases are distributed through Universal Music Group imprints Motown Records and Capitol Records, respectively. Tamika Howard and Simone Mitchell are executives of the label, with Howard serving as its general manager. [2]

The label has many acts signed, including Migos, City Girls, Lil Yachty, Lil Baby. The label also has Cardi B signed under a management deal.

History

Kevin Lee and Pierre Thomas initially established Quality Control Music by hiring radio and promotion staff, while they personally ventured into publishing and management. They invested $1 million and one year into building a headquarters in the western part of Atlanta, which holds four recording studios and office spaces. [1]

In 2020, Migos brought a lawsuit against the company. [3]

On February 8, 2023, Quality Control's parent company, QC Media Holdings, was acquired by Hybe America for $300 million, with the founders maintaining control and reporting to the CEO, Scooter Braun. [4] [5]

Quality Control Sports

In 2019, Kevin Lee and Pierre Thomas established Quality Control Sports, a sports management company. Quality Control Sports manages professional basketball, football and baseball players including Deebo Samuel, Alvin Kamara, Diontae Johnson (Pittsburgh Steelers) and Jarrett Allen. [27]

Migos were an American hip hop group founded in Lawrenceville, Georgia, in 2008. The group was composed of rapper Quavo, his late nephew Takeoff, and their mutual friend Offset. Quavo is from Athens, Georgia, while Offset and Takeoff were born and raised in nearby Lawrenceville. As a group, they were managed by Coach K, the former manager of Gucci Mane and Jeezy, and frequently collaborated with producers DJ Durel, Murda Beatz, Zaytoven, and Buddah Bless. After a number of independent mixtapes, he signed with Interscope Records in 2017 to release his debut studio album, The World Is Yours (2018). The album, supported by the singles "New Freezer" and "Plug Walk", peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. His second and third studio albums, The World Is Yours 2 (2019) and Boss Man (2020) peaked at numbers four and 24 on the chart, respectively. He has also released the collaborative mixtapes Nobody Safe (2020) with YoungBoy Never Broke Again, and Trust Fund Babies (2021) with Lil Wayne. Furthermore, he founded the record label Rich Forever Music in 2016, and has signed rappers Famous Dex and Jay Critch.

Quavious Keyate Marshall, known professionally as Quavo, is an American rapper from Athens, Georgia. He is best known as the frontman of the now-defunct hip hop group Migos. Formed with his nephew Takeoff and their mutual friend Offset in 2008, the group released four commercially successful studio albums before disbanding in 2023.

"Look at My Dab" is a song by American hip hop group Migos. It was released as a single on October 30, 2015 by Quality Control Music and 300 Entertainment. The song was included on their mixtape Back to the Bando (2015) and was produced by Drumma Boy. It peaked at number 87 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Bankroll Mafia is an American hip hop collective from Atlanta, Georgia. The collective was formed in 2015, after southern rappers T.I., Young Thug and Shad da God began frequently working together. Other Atlanta-based rappers also joined the collective, including Label No Genre’s London Jae, and Young Thug's close affiliates Peewee Roscoe and Lil Duke. In an interview with Billboard, T.I. described the group's dynamic as "a collective that includes a lot of personal and professional constituents throughout the industry, in and out of our elements." The collective released their self-titled debut album in April 2016.

Miles Parks McCollum, known professionally as Lil Yachty, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. He first gained recognition in August 2015 for his viral hit "One Night" from his debut EP Summer Songs. He then released his debut mixtape Lil Boat in March 2016, and signed a joint venture record deal with Motown, Capitol Records, and Quality Control Music in June of that year.

His stage moniker is derived from his affiliation with OG Maco's collective OGG, where he became acquainted with frequent collaborator Deko. Parker has since produced for prominent artists including Megan Thee Stallion, Migos, Chris Brown, Jazmine Sullivan, Gucci Mane, Fetty Wap, K Camp, YFN Lucci and Kollision.

Kiari Kendrell Cephus, known professionally as Offset, is an American rapper. He rose to prominence as part of the hip hop group Migos, alongside Quavo and his late nephew, Takeoff. In 2017, he released a collaborative album with American record producer Metro Boomin and English rapper 21 Savage titled Without Warning; it reached the top ten on the Billboard 200 and spawned the single "Ric Flair Drip," which peaked within the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. Later that year, he guest performed alongside Canadian rapper Drake on Metro Boomin's single "No Complaints." In 2018, he guest featured on the single "Taste" by Tyga, which marked his first top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 as a soloist, and was later certified 9× platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It has guest appearances from Cardi B, Tee Grizzley, MoneyBagg Yo, Kodak Black, Travis Scott, Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, Ty Dolla Sign, Eurielle, YRN Lingo, Young Thug and Mango Foo. Kirsnick Khari Ball, known professionally as Takeoff, was an American rapper. He was best known as the youngest member of the hip hop group Migos along with his uncle Quavo and close affiliate Offset. The group scored multiple top-10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 including "MotorSport", "Stir Fry", "Walk It Talk It", and "Bad and Boujee", the last of which peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. He also received two Grammy Award nominations. On November 1, 2022, Takeoff was fatally shot in Houston, Texas.
