Rai-Sankli is a village and former petty princely state on Saurashtra peninsula in Gujarat, western India.
The Sixth Class princely state in Jhalawar prant was ruled by (rare) Kunbi Chieftains. It also comprised a second village.
In 1901 it has a population of 427, yielding a state revenue of 6,579 Rupees (1903-4, nearly all from land), paying a 938 Rupees tribute to the British and the Gaekwar Baroda State.
The rulers of Rai-Sankli were titled 'Amin Shree'. The rulers belonged to chavda clan of Mansa state Trikamji Chavda son of King Raolji Rajsinhji Chavda Married to daughter of Ruler of Rai-Sankli and later became successor of Rai-Sankli and accepted as Kunbi. Rai-Sankli rulers also ruled Hasan Nagar estate.
The Rulers of Princely State of Rai-Sankli and Hasan Nagar estate were the first to join the union of India. They faced trouble from British rulers for being freedom supporter and secular.
A zamindar in the Indian subcontinent was an autonomous or semi-autonomous feudal ruler of a zamindari. The term itself came into use during the reign of Mughals, Marathas and later the British had begun using it as a native synonym for "estate". The term means landowner in Persian. Amethi is a city situated in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Gauriganj is the administrative headquarters of the Amethi district. This district is a part of Ayodhya division in the Awadh region of the state. Amethi was 72nd district of Uttar Pradesh which came into existence on 1 July 2010 by merging three tehsils of the erstwhile Sultanpur district namely Amethi, Gauriganj and Musafirkhana and two tehsils of the erstwhile Raebareli district, namely, Salon and Tiloi. The town is part of the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency and Amethi Assembly constituency, which became reputed as a stronghold of the Indian National Congress party. The Congress leaders belonging to Nehru-Gandhi family won several elections from Amethi during 1980–2014. In 2019, Smriti Irani of Bhartiya Janta Party won this seat.
House of Scindia is a Hindu Maratha Royal House that ruled the erstwhile Gwalior State in central India. It had the Patil-ship of Kanherkhed in the district of Satara and was founded by Ranoji Shinde, who started as a personal servant of the Peshwa Bajirao I. Ranoji and his descendants, along with their rivals the Holkars, played a leading role during the Maratha ascendancy in northern India in the 18th-century. The Gwalior State became a princely state during the British Raj in the 19th and the 20th-centuries. After India's independence in 1947 and the abolition of princely states, several members of the Scindia (Shinde) family went on to enter Indian politics.
The Gilgit Agency was an agency within the British Indian Empire. It encompassed the subsidiary states of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir situated along the northern border. The primary objective of establishing the Gilgit Agency was to bolster and fortify these regions, particularly in the context of concerns about Russian encroachment in the area. The subsidiary states encompassed Hunza, Nagar and other states in the present day districts of Gupis-Yasin, Ghizer, Darel, Tangir and Diamer. The agency headquarters was based in the town of Gilgit, within the Gilgit tehsil of Jammu and Kashmir.

Its capital was the city of Bikaner in the northern area of present-day Rajasthan State in India. Karni Mata has been designated as the kuldevi of the royal family of Bikaner.
Indore State, also known as Holkar State, was a kingdom in India. Its rulers belonged to the Maratha Holkar dynasty. After 1857, Indore became a 19-gun salute princely state under the British Raj.

Jhargram Raj was a zamindari which occupied a position in Bengal region of British India. The zamindari came into being during the later part of the 16th century when Man Singh of Amer was the Dewan/Subahdar of Bengal (1594–1606). Their territory was centered around present-day Jhargram district. Jhargram was never an independent territory since the chiefs of the family held it basically as the zamindars of the British Raj in India after Lord Cornwallis's Permanent Settlement of 1793. Although its owners were both rich and powerful, with the chiefs of the family holding the title of Raja, the Jhargram estate was not defined as a Princely State with freedom to decide its future course of action at the time of Indian independence in 1947. Later, the Vice-Roy of India agreed to recognize Jhargram as "Princely State" after the Second World War, but the proposal taken back as the British had decided to give independence to India.
Nagendra Saklani (1920-1948) was a Communist Party of India leader who sacrificed his life while trying to defend the liberated Kirt Nagar division of the princely state of Tehri Garhwal from the retake bid by the royal forces of Tehri State on 11 January 1948.
Kathiwara State or Kathiwada State was a princely state ruled by the Jadon dynasty that encompassed about 181 square kilometres (70 sq mi) of the territory immediately surrounding the city of Kathiwara. The princely state acceded to India in 1947. Upon accession to the Indian Union, it was absorbed into the province of Madhya Bharat.
