The Roosevelt School in Bernalillo, New Mexico was begun as a Federal Emergency Relief Administration project in 1935 and completed as a Works Progress Administration project in 1936. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. [1]

It is a one-story "Spanish-Pueblo Revival Style building" built with reinforced concrete structure. Its walls are adobe brick covered by a cream-colored stucco. It has a continuous parapet with projecting vigas. [2]

Ernie Pyle House/Library United States historic place

The Ernie Pyle House/Library is a historic house at 900 Girard Boulevard, SE in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Built in 1940, it was the home of famed war correspondent Ernie Pyle from then until his untimely death in 1945 during World War II. It now serves as a branch of the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Library, containing Pyle memorabilia and a monument to Pyle. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2006.

Sandia Cave United States historic place

Sandia Cave, also called the Sandia Man Cave, is an archaeological site near Bernalillo, New Mexico, within Cibola National Forest. First discovered and excavated in the 1930s, the site exhibits evidence of human use from 9,000 to 11,000 years ago. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1961. The site is open to the public, up a difficult half-mile trail off New Mexico State Road 165.

The Clayton Public Schools Historic District is a 7-acre (2.8 ha) historic district consisting of four blocks in southeast Clayton, New Mexico, centered on 6th and Cedar Sts. Also known as Clayton Public Schools-Campus No. 1, its oldest buildings were built in 1935. It includes work designed by Willard C. Kruger and other New Mexico architects in Pueblo Revival style and built by the Works Progress Administration. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996; the listing included seven contributing buildings, four contributing structure and four other contributing sites.

Bueyeros School United States historic place

The Bueyeros School is a historic school building located on State Road 102 in Bueyeros, New Mexico. The school was built in 1936 by the Works Progress Administration as part of its efforts to combat rural unemployment in New Mexico. The Bueyeros area was part of New Mexico's section of the Dust Bowl, making the school project especially important to the area. The school was one of many rural schools built by the WPA in New Mexico; as may rural school districts lacked adequate facilities, school projects were a large and necessary part of the WPA's work in the state. The school has a plain Pueblo Revival design with a stucco exterior and stone drainage spouts on the east side.

Roosevelt Park is a historic park in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties and the National Register of Historic Places, and is a protected Albuquerque Historic Landmark. The park was built between 1933 and 1935 by manual laborers employed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal programs, turning a sandy arroyo filled with garbage into a rolling, grassy landscape planted with over 2,000 trees and bushes. It has long been one of the city's most popular gathering and recreation areas, although it also developed a reputation as a dangerous area beginning in the 1960s.
