The Rural Retreat Depot is a historic railroad station at 105 Railroad Avenue in Rural Retreat, Virginia. Built c. 1870, it is one of the oldest railroad stations in Southwest Virginia, and one of only two to survive from the Reconstruction Era. Its distinctive Italianate features include a pair of square towers, and wide shallow eaves with paired brackets. [2]

The Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Station was a Atlantic Coast Line Railroad station in Lake Wales, Florida. On August 31, 1990, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The building is now used by the Lake Wales History Museum.
Alderson station is an Amtrak station in Alderson, West Virginia, served by the Cardinal. It is located at 1 C&O Plaza, and functions as a request stop. The station is a contributing property within the Alderson Historic District, which has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since November 12, 1993.
Charleston station is an active intercity railroad station in Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia. Located on MacCorkle Avenue Southeast, the station services trains of Amtrak's Cardinal between New York Penn Station and Chicago Union Station. The two trains, make stops in Charleston on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Charleston station contains a single 800-foot (240 m) concrete side platform and has a station depot that provides a waiting room for customers.
The Virginian Railway Passenger Station, also known as the Virginian Station is a former rail station listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the South Jefferson neighborhood of the independent city of Roanoke, Virginia, U.S.A. Located at the intersection of Jefferson Street SE and Williamson Road, the Virginian Station served as a passenger station for the Virginian Railway between 1910 and 1956. The station was the only station constructed with brick along the entire length of the Virginian's 608 miles (978 km) network. It was severely damaged by fire on January 29, 2001.
The Apex Union Depot is a historic railroad station located on Salem Street in downtown Apex, North Carolina and is the centerpiece of the Apex Historic District. Constructed in 1914 by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad, the building shared service with the Durham and Southern Railway, but now houses the Apex Visitor's Center, Apex Chamber of Commerce, and meeting rooms rented out for special events. A 37-foot Louisville and Nashville Railroad caboose is located beside the building. In December 1998 the Apex Union Depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Potter Place Railroad Station is a historic railroad station on Depot Street in Andover, New Hampshire. Built in 1874, it is one of the best-preserved surviving 19th-century railroad stations in Merrimack County. It now houses the museum of the Andover Historical Society. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
The Oak Hill Railroad Depot is a historic depot in Oak Hill, West Virginia, United States. The depot is located on the southwest corner of Virginia Avenue and Central Avenue. It opened as a station on the White Oak Railway in 1903 and later became part of the Virginian Railway, which it served until 1957. From this year until closure in 1983, it operated as a depot for the Norfolk and Western Railway. The depot now serves as the meeting place for the White Oak chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. It is the only remaining Virginian Railway depot in West Virginia.
Gassaway station, also known as Coal & Coke Railway Company Depot, is a historic railway depot located at Gassaway, Braxton County, West Virginia. It was built in 1914, by the Coal and Coke Railway and later acquired by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. It is a two-story, brick and stone, Romanesque Revival-style building measuring 78 feet wide and 35 feet deep. It features two projecting pavilions, each 26 feet long and projecting 6 feet. It has a hipped roof with red ceramic "French tile." Passenger service ceased in 1953, and the depot continued use as a maintenance shop through 1988.
Parsons station is a historic railroad depot located at Parsons, Tucker County, West Virginia. It was built by the Western Maryland Railroad in 1888, and is a one-story frame building in the Eastlake movement / Stick Style. It is a simple rectangle measuring 70 feet long and 24 feet wide, with a 12 foot wide, three-sided bay. It features German siding and a batten seam gable roof.
Huntington station is a historic railroad depot located at Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. It was built in 1887, by the Huntington and Big Sandy Railroad, later the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. The former passenger station is two stories and constructed of brick with a slate roof and two chimneys. The former baggage section to the east is one story. The front facade of the former passenger station features a bay window extending from the basement to the roof and dividing it into two sections. At the rear of the passenger station is the former freighthouse. The freighthouse is a brick building with a slate roof completed in 1890, and expanded in 1897, 1911, and 1916.
St. Albans Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad Depot, also known as St. Albans Depot, is a historic railroad depot located at St. Albans, Kanawha County, West Virginia. It was built in 1906 by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad. It has a 1 1/2 story central block with one story wings and a hipped roof. It originally had a square watch tower. The frame building is clad in clapboard siding. The station closed about 1963 and remained vacant until the city purchased the land from CSX Transportation in 1991 and CSX donated the station.
Wabash Combination Depot-Moravia, now known as the Wabash Depot Museum, is an historic train station located in Moravia, Iowa, United States. It is believed to be one of the two standard-plan wooden Wabash combination freight and passenger depots that remain in Iowa. Completed in 1903, it served the Wabash Railroad. The Queen Anne style building is an example of the rural combination station plan. The plan combined all railroad services from passengers to freight in one building. The museum features railroad artifacts, an operational model train layout and a restored railroad section car. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999 as a part of the Advent & Development of Railroads in Iowa MPS.
The Virginia & Truckee (V&T) Railroad Depot of Carson City, Nevada, is a historic railroad station that is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). It is significant for its association with the economically important role of the V&T railroad historically in Carson City following discovery of the Comstock Lode mine in 1859. To a lesser degree, according to its NRHP nomination, the depot building is also significant architecturally "as a well-preserved example of a wood-frame passenger depot procured from a railroad company pattern book within the V&T's former sphere of operation."
The Thomasville Railroad Passenger Depot is a historic train station located at Thomasville, Davidson County, North Carolina. It is one of the oldest remaining frame depots in the state, built between 1870 and 1871. The board-and-batten building features Victorian sawnwork detailing. Until 1912, it served as a passenger train station with the Richmond and Danville Railroad and later the Southern Railway. Due to the increase in passenger rail travel, a new brick depot was built. This depot was then moved to the north side of the tracks and served as a freight agent's office. The Southern Railway eventually gave the structure to the town. The Thomasville Historical Society raised $5,000 for its restoration in 1969. Another restoration was completed in the late 1990s. In July 2000, the Thomasville Railroad Passenger Depot became the home of the Thomasville Visitors' Center.
Beach Station a national historic district located near Chesterfield, in Chesterfield County, Virginia. The district includes six contributing buildings and one contributing site in the Village of Beach. They were all constructed about 1890 and are two single-family dwellings, a post office, a railway depot, an outbuilding, two railroad shanties, and the ruins of the former general store. Beach Station was accessible from the Farmville and Powhatan Railroad later named the Tidewater and Western Railroad. Leasing arrangements had been made with the Brighthope Railway company which was sold to become the Farmville and Powhatan. The district represents an unusual collection of late-nineteenth-century buildings in their historic surroundings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
Beaverdam Depot is a historic railway depot located at Beaverdam, Hanover County, Virginia.
Norge Train Depot is a historic home located at Norge, near Williamsburg, James City County, Virginia. It was built about 1907 by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway from standardized plans. The train station is the last surviving example of a wood frame "informal standard" depot in the six states that were served by Chesapeake and Ohio Railway. Originals were built according to an informal plan and no standard drawings were prepared or entered in the railway's set of design standards.
The Sandown Depot is a former railroad station of the Boston and Maine Railroad in Sandown, New Hampshire. Built in 1873–74, it is the best-preserved of stations built by the Nashua and Rochester Railroad to survive, remaining relatively unaltered since its construction, and still at its original location. It is now a local history museum, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, and the New Hampshire State Register of Historic Places in 2011.
The Scottsboro Memphis and Charleston Depot is a historic train station in Scottsboro, Alabama, USA. Built in 1861 on the eve of the American Civil War, the depot is one of three remaining antebellum depots in Alabama built by the Memphis and Charleston Railroad, and the only one outside Huntsville. On January 8, 1865, it was the site of a skirmish between members of the 101st and 110th U.S. Colored Infantry Regiment and Confederate forces which resulted in the retreating rebels setting fire it.
The Stevenson Railroad Depot and Hotel station are a historic train station and hotel in Stevenson, Alabama. They were built circa 1872 as a joint project of the Memphis and Charleston Railroad and the Nashville and Chattanooga Railroad, whose lines converged in Stevenson. When the Memphis & Charleston was purchased by the Southern Railway in 1898, the Louisville and Nashville Railroad took sole control of the depot and operated it until 1976. It was converted into a history museum in 1982. Both buildings are brick with gable roofs and Italianate details. The depot has a central, second-story tower that was added in 1887. The three-story hotel had a lobby, dining room, and kitchen on the first floor and eight large guest rooms on the upper floors. The buildings were listed on the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage in 1975 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
