A geographic coordinate system is a coordinate system that enables every location on Earth to be specified by a set of numbers, letters or symbols. Shipp is a former settlement in Fresno County, California. [1] It was located on the San Joaquin and Eastern Railroad 8.5 miles (14 km) north of Clovis, [2] at an elevation of 420 feet (128 m). [1] It still appeared on maps as of 1922. [1]

The San Joaquin & Eastern Railroad (SJ&E) was a standard gauge common carrier railroad that operated in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Fresno County in the U.S. state of California. The line was abandoned in 1933. The railroad hauled primarily lumber and agricultural products.
