Texvalley is an integrated textile wholesale and retail market located in Erode, Tamil Nadu, India. [1]

Contents

History

The mall was proposed by the Ministry of Textiles under the Comprehensive Power-loom Cluster Development Scheme. It was developed by a special purpose vehicle named Erode Textile Mall Limited. [2] The foundation stone for the construction was laid on 22 January 2011 by the then Union Minister Dayanidhi Maran. [3] The weekly market was opened in August 2014. [4]

Facilities

The Global market is designed to accommodate about 1599 shops in 1,150,000 sq ft (107,000 m2), [5] and contains about 600 showrooms. [6] [7]

In June 2016, the Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council (PDEXCIL) shifted its regional office into Texvalley, and also opened a textile design studio inside the campus. [8]

The Fun Republic Mall is a shopping mall located at Vipin Khand in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. The mall has a Built-up area of more than 970,000 sq ft, including 5,80,000 sq ft of gross leasable (retail) area. It was inaugurated in 2007. It was built by Zee Group in the mid-2000s at a cost of Rs 800 million. It comprises retail outlets, cinema, food court and 60-room boutique hotel. Koyambedu Wholesale Market Complex (KWMC) is one of Asia's largest perishable goods market complex located at Koyambedu, Chennai. The market complex is spread over an area of 295 acres (1.19 km2). Inaugurated in 1996, the complex consists of about 3,100 shops, including more than 1,000 wholesale shops and 2,000 retail shops. Of these, 850 are fruit shops. The complex is spread over 9 floors and the offices start from the third floor.
