The 5th The Beatz Awards was held at Muson Center in Lagos on 24 November 2019. Nominees were revealed on October 15, 2019. [1] The live show was televised on STV, Nigezie TV, wapTV, TVC, BEN Television, and MTV Base, [2] and hosted by Dr SID. [3] It celebrated entertainment personalities across 25 voting categories, with 4 honorary Awards (non-voting). Kel-P had the highest award winnings at The Beatz Awards, by securing 3 awards at the ceremony.

Contents

At the ceremony, Don Jazzy was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the "New Discovery Producer" category was renamed "Don Jazzy New Discovery Producer". [4] While receiving the award, he added a 1 million cash prize to the winner from the 6th edition of the award. [5]

Mavin Records is a Nigerian music corporation record label founded by record producer and recording artist Don Jazzy on 8 May 2012. The label's inception came to fruition following the closure of Mo' Hits Records, a record label owned by the aforementioned producer and D'banj. The label is home to recording artists such as Rema, Ayra Starr, Crayon, Johnny Drille, Ladipoe, Magixx, Boy spyce and Bayanni and Lifesize teddy. Solar Plexus is a compilation album released by Mavin Records on May 8, 2012. Produced entirely by Don Jazzy, the album comprises 13 tracks and was made available for free digital download. It contains solo tracks from D'Prince, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal and Dr SID. The album's release coincided with the record label's launch date. Solar Plexus was supported by two singles: "Take Banana" and "Omo Ga". It received generally negative reviews from music critics.

Once Upon a Time is the debut studio album by Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage. It was released on July 3, 2013, by Mavin Records and 323 Entertainment. The album was made available for purchase on iTunes a day before its official release. It features guest appearances from Don Jazzy, Flavour N'abania, Leo Wonder, Iceberg Slim, Sarkodie and General Pype. The album's production was handled by Don Jazzy, Warren Oak Felder, Sauce Wilson, Harmony Samuels, GospelOnDeBeatz, Del B, Raydar Ellis and Spellz. The album was supported by seven singles—"Kele Kele Love", "Love Me (3x)", "Without My Heart", "Ife Wa Gbona", "Folarin", "Olorun Mi" and "Eminado". Once Upon a Time was nominated for Best Album of the Year at the 2014 Nigeria Entertainment Awards and for Best R&B/Pop Album at The Headies 2014.

The Headies is a music awards show established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria to recognize outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry. The annual ceremony features performances by established and promising artists. It is broadcast live on HipTV to viewers across Nigeria. "Surulere" is a song by Nigerian singer Dr SID. It was released on November 13, 2013, as the lead single from his second studio album Siduction (2013). Don Jazzy produced the song and was featured on it. "Surulere" peaked at number 1 on MTV Base's Official Naija Top 10 chart from March 21 through March 27, 2014. It also peaked at number 2 on the Pulse Nigeria Music Video chart. Moreover, it was ranked fourth on YouTube's most watched Nigerian videos for the first quarter of 2014. In a nutshell, the song is a reflection of Dr SID's musical journey.

The 2011 Nigeria Entertainment Awards was the 6th edition of the ceremony to reward outstanding contribution to Nigerian entertainment industry. It was held at Sharp Theater, Symphony Space, New York City on September 5, 2011. It was hosted by Funke Akindele and Julius Agwu.

"Dorobucci" is a song by The Mavins, a collective composed of Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr SID, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Di'Ja and D'Prince. Released on May 1, 2014, it received generally positive reviews from music critics. Positive remarks went towards its production, instrumentation and composition. On the contrary, the music video received mixed reviews. While some critics described the video as brilliant, others felt it was dull and not up to par.

Chris Alvin Sunday professionally known as Krizbeatz or KrizBeatz the drummer Boy, is a Nigerian record producer best known for producing Tekno his first single "Pana". Ranked 3rd on Pulse Nigeria's 2016 list of "Top 5 Best Nigerian Music Producers", KrizBeatz has worked majorly with Yemi Alade including several artistes like Oyibo Rebel, Skales, Lil Kesh and Koker while also releasing his own single titled "Erima" and the hit single "911" featuring Yemi Alade and Harmonize which further pushed his career to limelight. The Beatz Awards is a Nigerian awards music show first introduced on 13 November 2015, by Eliworld Int'l Limited, to recognize and celebrate outstanding achievements of the creative minds behind the music production, business, and distribution.

The 4th The Beatz Awards tagged "The Quadrant", was held at Muson Center in Lagos on 21 November 2018. Nominees were revealed on October 26, 2017. The live show was televised on STV, Nigezie TV, wapTV, TVC, and BEN Television, and hosted by Kenny Blaq. Killertunes had the highest award winnings at The Beatz Awards, by securing 3 awards at the ceremony.

The 6th The Beatz Awards was held at Muson Center in Lagos on 28 November 2021. The organizers opened a portal for the public to submit entries on 4 August 2021, and recorded 2500 entries, on October 6. Nominees were revealed on October 29, 2021. The live show was televised on STV, Nigezie TV, wapTV, TVC, BEN Television, and MTV Base, and hosted by Victory Wilson, Boda Wasiu, and Saco. It celebrated entertainment personalities across 25 voting categories, with 3 honorary Awards (non-voting).

Alexander Uwaifo known professionally as Andre Vibez is a Nigerian music producer and songwriter. He is best known for producing "Rush" from Ayra Starr's album 19 & Dangerous and Rema international hit single “Calm Down” which peaked at number one on the India IMI International chart and also peak no.3 on Billboard Hot 100. In September 2022, he was announced as one of the new signed record producers of the Nigerian record label, Mavin Records.
