tooXclusive is a Nigerian music and review website. [1] Launched in 2010 by Olutayo "Tyler" Duncan Sotubo, the website is notable for organizing its yearly tooXclusive Online Music Awards. [2] They pride their establishment as the number one source for pan-African music entertainment, reviews, trending news and celebrity updates. [3]

Overview

tooXclusive was launched in 2010 by editor-in-chief Olutayo "Tyler" Duncan Sotubo. They provide a complete package of music/video downloads, reviews, industry news, top 10 charts, interviews and other music related editorials. [4]

tooXclusive in their over six-year stint have become known for stylized top 10 charts, music video downloads and editorial content. The top 10 chart is a countdown of Naija's finest in the music industry spanning different categories including Producers, Next Rated Acts, Hottest Artistes, and Banging Collaborations. The chart is put together by the TX team after much research and deliberation. Each chart features 10 Nigerian music acts that have excelled in specific categories and met certain criteria within a given time frame.

tooXclusive also publishes editorial content at including spotlight profiles of artistes, their materials (music and videos), and critical music reviews.

tooXclusive has sometimes been controversial for having shared a writer's opinion in perspective on how these artistes enact their music propaganda. [5]

tooXclusive Ghana

tooXclusive Ghana (or tooXclusive GH) is a branch of tooXclusive.com website which caters specifically for the needs of the fast growing Ghanaian music industry. The site features a comprehensive profile of Ghana's musical acts, songs, music videos and other entertainment related content.

Duncan Sotubo, CEO of tooXclusive, said, "The aim of tooxclusive from its inception has always been to be the biggest music distribution platform all over Africa and after a successful 4 years in Nigeria, we're convinced that we can comfortably branch out, offering the best of Ghanaian music to music lovers all over Africa." tooXclusive Music Awards

The #TxOMA is first of its kind as far as online awards are concerned. It recognizes artistes and brands that have performed exceptionally well in a given year.

In a recent edition, Vanessa Mdee, Stonebwoy and Diamond Platnumz were recognized on this platform. Superstar acts like Vector, Yemi Alade, Seyi Shay, YCEE and Olamide [7] received custom-designed award plaques.

The tooXclusive Awards are held exclusively online, with votes being cast via the website. [8]

Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru, known by his stage names Reminisce and ALAGA IBILE, is a Nigerian versatile musician, singer, rapper, songwriter, and actor from Ogun State. He has mastered the art of performing in both English and his native language, Yoruba.

The Headies Nigerian music award

The Headies is a music awards show established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria to recognize outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry. The annual ceremony features performances by established and promising artists. It is broadcast live on HipTV to viewers across Nigeria. The 1st and 2nd editions of The Headies were held at the Muson Center in Onikan, Lagos State. Between 2010 and 2012, the awards were held at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos. Several media personalities in Nigeria have hosted the annual ceremony, including Darey Art Alade, D'banj, Dakore Egbuson, Banky W., Rita Dominic, M.I, Tiwa Savage and Dr SID.

Patoranking

Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, better known by his stage name Patoranking, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Ijegun-Egba Satellite Town, Patoranking hails from Onicha, Ebonyi State. He started his music career doing underground collaborations with artists such as XProject, Konga, Slam and Reggie Rockstone. He signed a record deal with K-Solo's Igberaga Records in 2010, releasing "Up in D Club" under the outfit. Patoranking became a protégé of Dem Mama Records after collaborating with Timaya on his song "Alubarika". In February 2014, he signed a record deal with Foston Musik and released "Girlie O", a single that put him in the limelight. On 9 February 2015, Patoranking announced on Instagram that he signed a distribution deal with VP Records. on September 28 Patoranking released a song titled Abule one he released ahead of his album scheduled to be released later soon in 2020. The artiste once said in 2020 that he once got inspiration for song on a football pitch while playing football.

Phyno

Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, better known as Phyno, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer. He started his music career as a producer in 2003, and is renowned for rapping in the Igbo language. His debut studio album No Guts No Glory was released in 2014. It was supported by four singles: "Ghost Mode", "Man of the Year", "Parcel" and "O Set". Phyno has worked with artists such as Wizkid, Davido, Timaya, Flavour, Ruggedman, Bracket, J. Martins and Mr Raw.

Yemi Alade Nigerian singer and songwriter

Yemi Eberechi Alade is a Nigerian Afropop singer, songwriter, actress and activist. She won the Peak Talent Show in 2009 after which she signed to Effyzzie Music Group, and had a hit with her single "Johnny" in 2014. Since then Yemi has gained prominence in the music industry following the releases of her albums King of Queens and Mama Africa, this made her embark on world tours consecutively.

Morihanfen Oluwaseun Oluwabamidele, known by his stage name as Sean Tizzle, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He was formally signed to Sound Sultan's Naija Ninjas.

Douglas Jack Agu, better known by his stage name Runtown, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer.

Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe better known by his stage name Kizz Daniel, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is best known for his singles "Woju" and "Yeba". He went by the stage name Kiss Daniel prior to changing it in May 2018. He signed a record deal with G-Worldwide Entertainment in 2013, but left the label following a publicized contract dispute and court case. He founded the Fly Boy Inc record label in November 2017.

DJ Spinall Nigerian disc jockey

Oluseye Desmond Sodamola, professionally known as DJ Spinall, is a Nigerian Disc Jockey, Record Producer, songwriter, Label Executive, and Media personality. He first gained prominence in 2004, while working as a radio DJ at Raypower 100.5 FM. He later joined Industry Nite where he promoted underground talents at the weekly platform. He was the official DJ to Wande Coal while he was affiliated with Mavin Records. DJ Spinall created a style edge to his outfit known as TheCAP, tracing his roots back to his culture. TheCAP, which fans tags as "TheCrazyAzzParty" has since then been his brand power and identity.

Baba Hafusa is a studio album by Nigerian rap act Reminisce which was released through EDGE Records on 30 April 2015. It is the rapper's third overall studio album after releasing Book of Rap Stories in 2012 and Alaga Ibile in 2013. The studio album which features guest appearances from SoJay, Vector, Ice Prince, Olamide, Phyno, Sossick and Sean Tizzle was according to Reminisce a way of paying tribute to his daughter named Hafusa.

Ycee

Oludemilade Martin Alejo, known professionally as Ycee, is a Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter. He gained popularity after his single "Condo", which features vocals by Patoranking, earned him two nominations at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards. He was also nominated for Best Artist in African Pop at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards and for Next Rated at The Headies 2016. Ycee signed a record deal with Sony Music in October 2016, but terminated his contract with the label in February 2018.

Phillip Kayode Moses, born in Lagos State, better known as Pheelz, is a Nigerian record producer and Songwriter who has worked with a vast array of artists and musicians, ranging from Olamide, Tiwa Savage and everyone in between.Born and raised in Lagos, Pheelz is credited to have produced all but one song in Olamide's Baddest Guy Ever Liveth album.

Falz Nigerian rapper

Folarin Falana, better known by his stage name Falz, is a Nigerian rapper, songwriter and actor who began his career while in secondary school after forming a group called "The School Boys" with his friend before his professional career as a music artist began in 2009. Falz became more well known after his song "Marry Me" featuring vocals from Poe and Yemi Alade.

Opeyemi Gbenga Kayode, known by his stage name Pepenazi, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He made his debut in the Nigerian music industry in 2012 with the single "Arose", produced by Bam Tunes. Its music video contained cameo appearances by Vector, Ice Prince and W4. Pepenazi later took a break from music to complete his undergraduate education and enlist in the army. Returning to the Nigerian music scene in October 2014, he released two more singles: "Born You" and "Low". Pepenazi attracted more attention after releasing his pop single, "Illegal". The second half of 2015 was a breakthrough period, when he was nominated for Rookie of the Year at the 2015 Headies' Flip the Script Awards.

Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, popularly known by his stage name CDQ, is a Nigerian indigenous hip-hop rapper and songwriter best known for his single "Nowo E Soke" featuring Wizkid and Masterkraft's Indomie where he was featured alongside Olamide. While the former is instrumental for launching his career into the Nigerian music industry, the later won him his first career award at the 2016 Nigerian Music Video Awards. Signed to his label No Struggle No Success Entertainment, CDQ's repertoire of music includes rapping in Yoruba language with addition of ad-libs such as the popular "Woss Wobi" which he invented.

Akwuba Charles Ugochukwu, professionally known as DJ Coublon, is a Nigerian record producer and sound engineer. He is best known for producing hit songs with several prominent artists in the Nigerian music industry, including Kiss Daniel, Iyanya, Yemi Alade, Tekno Miles, Patoranking, Seyi Shay, among others.
