Vellore New Bus Terminus, also known as Vellore New Bus Stand, is a main bus station in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. It is located on the Chennai-Bengaluru, National Highway 48 (India) near the Green Circle. [1]
Newly built Vellore bus terminus which has been built at a cost of 53.13 crores, spread over 9.25 hectares with a built-up area of 3,187 sqm, has 84 bus bays, 82 shops, three food courts, 11 waiting halls each having a capacity of at least 75 persons. Separate restrooms have also been built for commuters with disabilities. On an average, over 75,000 commuters use the temporary bus terminus in the town every day. Ramps for the physically challenged are also built in the new terminus, which is solar powered. The entire facility also comes under CCTV surveillance. [2] [3]

The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (Chennai) Ltd. - (MTC), is the agency that operates the public bus service in Chennai, India. It is a subsidiary of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation Ltd. As of December 2022 the MTC had a total fleet of 3,436 buses with 3,233 scheduled services, with on average 2.946 million passengers per day. On March 22, 2016, the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways reported that Chennai had the most crowded buses in the country with 1300 passengers per bus in each direction per day. During peak hours, on some routes, a bus with a capacity to accommodate 80 persons carries twice the number of people due to the extensiveness of the system. Chennai Beach is a railway terminus of the Southern Railway network in Parry's Corner, Chennai, India. Built on reclaimed land, the station serves the suburban services of the Chennai Suburban Railway and Mass Rapid Transit System (Chennai) and a few passenger trains. The station is named after High Court Beach, which was later built up as part of Chennai Port, and not after the Marina Beach, which is located a few kilometres away and is served by Chepauk, Triplicane and Lighthouse stations of the MRTS line. Cochin Harbour Terminus is an NSG–6 category Indian railway station in Thiruvananthapuram railway division of Southern Railway zone. It is one of the railway stations in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. During the peak time of the station, 17 trains operated from here to different parts of the country and served as the principal station providing rail connectivity to the southern segment of the Port of Kochi located on the Willingdon Island. The station, which has not been in use after the commissioning of Vallarpadam container terminus is now locked and all the train service to the station from Ernakulam Junction were completely stopped in 2013. Since then, only occasional tourist trains carrying passengers will arrive at the station – notably the Golden Chariot in 2022.
