The Visakha Express is a daily express train owned by Indian Railways connecting Secunderabad (SC) to Bhubaneswar (BBS). It was widely popularized by the 2008 Telugu movie of the same name. The train's numbers are 17015 and 17016. It is part of the South Central Railway zone. Train number 17016 leaves Secunderabad at 4:50 PM and arrives at Bhubaneswar the next day at 3:25 PM. Train number 17015 leaves Bhubaneswar at 08:45 AM and arrives at Secunderabad the next day at 07:30 AM.

The train runs from Secunderabad via Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Nadikudi, Piduguralla, Sattenapalle Guntur Junction, Vijayawada, Gudivada, Kaikaluru, Akividu, Bhimavaram Town, Tanuku, Nidadavolu, Rajahmundry, Samalkot, Annavaram, Tuni, Elamanchili, Anakapalle, Duvvada, Visakhapatnam, Simhachalam, Kothavalasa, Vizianagaram, Eheepurupalli, Ponduru, Srikakulam Road, Tilaru, Kotabommali, Naupada, Palasa, Sompeta, Ichchapuram, Brahmapur, Chhatrapur, Balugaon, Nirakarpur, and Khurda Road to Bhubaneswar.

Traction

The train is hauled by Lallaguda-based WAP-7 locomotive from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam as the route is completely electrified. From Visakhapatnam a Visakhapatnam-based WAP-4/WAP-7 locomotive powers the train till Bhubaneswar and vice versa.

The Visakhapatnam–Secunderabad Duronto Express is a superfast AC express train of the Indian Railways, announced in 2011-12 Railway Budget by Mamata Banerjee, the then Minister of Indian Railways, connecting Secunderabad (SC) to Visakhapatnam (VSKP). It is the fastest way between the two cities and will consist of 18 coaches. On 30 June 2012, the Indian Railways announced that the train will be flagged of on 6 July. It was however flagged off from Visakhapatnam on 12 July 2012.

The 12281 / 12282 Bhubaneswar Duronto Express is a once-a-week weekly train which runs between Bhubaneswar, capital of Odisha and New Delhi in Delhi. This train was introduced as part of the Duronto Express trains that were announced by the then railways minister Mamata Banerjee in 2010-2011 rail budget. It is operated by East Coast Railway.

The 12805 / 12806 Janmabhoomi Express is an InterCity service of Indian Railways that travels from Lingampalli to Visakhapatnam. It was first introduced between Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada Jn. It was later extended up to Tenali Jn and then the Nagarjuna Express was cancelled and thus made the Visakhapatnam–Secunderabad Janmabhoomi Express via Tenali Junction, and now it is extended from Secunderabad Junction to Lingampalli. The Secunderabad–Shalimar Express is a Superfast AC Express train of the Indian Railways connecting Secunderabad (SC) to Kolkata Shalimar (SHM). It is handled by the South Central Railway zone (SCR). The train was announced in the 2012 Annual Railway Budget of India and its rake was rolled out in September 2012. The train stops at 14 stations en route, connecting major cities like Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar and Kharagpur. The train runs weekly. The train was flagged off from Secunderabad on 28 May 2013 at 11:00 am by Kotla Jayasurya Prakasha Reddy, the then Minister of State of Railways and Anjan Kumar Yadav, an MP from Secunderabad.
