Women's ILCA 6 World Championship

The Women's ILCA 6 World Championship, until 2020 the Women's Laser Radial World Championship, has been held every year since 1980, organised by the International Sailing Federation. [1] Laser Radial is an Olympic sailing class. The event was held together with the Men's Laser Radial World Championships between 1989 and 2010.

The Laser Standard is the original of the Laser family of dinghies, which also includes the Laser Radial and Laser 4.7, both of which use the same hull, but have smaller rigs.

The Laser 4.7 or ILCA 4 is a one-design dinghy class in the Laser series and is a one-design class of sailboat. All Lasers are built to the same specifications. The Laser is 4.06 m long, with a waterline length of 3.81 m. The hull weight is 59 kg (130 lb). The boat is manufactured by ILCA and World Sailing approved builders.

Tom Slingsby is an Australian competitive sailor. Slingsby's first successes came sailing Laser dinghies, where he won three consecutive world championships and the 2012 Olympic gold medal. Slingsby was the strategist for the America's Cup-winning Team Oracle USA in 2013. In 2016 he skippered the winner-of-line honours in the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race line. Following this he skippered the Australian team in the inaugural SailGP competition.

John Karageorgis was greek sailor competitor, regatta sailor and sportsman that had obtained the bronze medal for his country in the 1991 Laser Radial World Championship.

Ecem Güzel is a Turkish sailor who specializes in the Laser Radial class. She is a member of the Galatasaray Sailing team. Güzel competed at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games for Turkey.

Shai Kakon is an Israeli Olympic sailor. She was the 2017 European Laser 4.7 Youth U16 Girl Champion, and World silver medalist. She was then the 2019 Youth Sailing World Championship Laser Radial Girls silver medalist. She competed for Israel at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She won the 2022 European U21 Championship. Kakon will represent Israel at the 2024 Summer Olympics in sailing in Sailing/Laser Radial on August 1-6, 2024, in Marseille, France.
