Cainbable is a rural locality in the Scenic Rim Region, Queensland, Australia. [2] In the 2016 census Cainbable had a population of 74 people. [1]

Geography

The locality is a long north-south the valley formed around Cainbable Creek, which rises in O'Reilly to the south and then flows north through Cainbable exiting to the north (Nindooinbah) where it becomes a tributary of the Albert River. [3]

There is a mountain, also called Cainbable ( 28°08′00″S153°06′35″E / 28.1332°S 153.1097°E / -28.1332; 153.1097 (Cainbable) ) rising to 656 metres (2,152 ft) on the ridge on the eastern boundary of the locality. [4] [5] [3]

A small area in the south of the locality forms part of the Lamington National Park which extends through neighbouring O'Reilly and Sarabah and areas beyond. Apart from the protected area, the land use is almost entirely grazing on native vegetation with small areas of irrigated pastures and irrigated crop growing in the north of the locality around the creek. [3]

The locality contains 36 households, in which 50.7% of the population are males and 49.3% of the population are females with a median age of 49, 11 years above the national average. Beaudesert railway line

The Beaudesert railway line is a disused branch railway in South East Queensland, Australia. The first section opened in 1885, the line was completed in 1888 and operated as a Queensland Government Railways (QGR) line until 1996. A heritage operation was undertaken for a short period in 2003. The Canungra railway line connected at Logan Village between 1915 and 1955, and the Beaudesert Shire Tramway connected with the terminal between 1903 and 1944. A study was undertaken in 2010 by the Queensland government concerning a potential Salisbury-to-Beaudesert rail corridor as a long-term potential proposal.
