Previous: 2008 Next: 2010

The 2009 Formul'Academy Euro Series season was the seventeenth season of the series for 1600cc Formula Renault machinery, and the second under the Formul'Academy Euro Series guise. The season began on 3 May at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain and ended on 25 October at Ciudad del Motor de Aragón in Alcañiz, also in Spain; and consisted of fourteen races at seven meetings. Benjamin Bailly became series champion, only the fourth time that a non-French driver had won the series that began as Formula Renault Campus. [1]

Formula Renault race car class

Formula Renault is two classes of formula racing popular in Europe and elsewhere. Regarded as an entry-level series to motor racing, it was first founded in 1971, and is a respected series where drivers can learn advanced racecraft before moving on to higher formulas.

Circuit Ricardo Tormo motorsport track in Spain

Circuit Ricardo Tormo, also known as Circuit de Valencia and officially named Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo, is a motorsport race track located in Cheste and built in 1999. It has a capacity of 120,000 and a main straight of 876 metres. It is often used as a test track by the Formula One teams, because of the mild temperatures in winter. Anthony Davidson holds the unofficial lap record, set in 2006 while testing a Honda RA106, with a time of 1 m 08.540sec.

Spain Kingdom in Southwest Europe

Spain, officially the Kingdom of Spain, is a country mostly located on the Iberian Peninsula in Europe. Its territory also includes two archipelagoes: the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa, and the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. The African enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla make Spain the only European country to have a physical border with an African country (Morocco). Several small islands in the Alboran Sea are also part of Spanish territory. The country's mainland is bordered to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea except for a small land boundary with Gibraltar; to the north and northeast by France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; and to the west and northwest by Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean.
