It is a Baffin Island offshore island located in Frobisher Bay, southeast of the capital city of Iqaluit. Penrose Island Marine Provincial Park is a provincial park in the Central Coast region of British Columbia, Canada, located on the north side of the entrance to Rivers Inlet, 86 km north of Port Hardy at the south end of Fitz Hugh Sound. Comprising 1,079 hectares of marine area and 934 hectares of land area, the park is accessible by boat only and entrance to its anchorages are on its eastern side, the western being exposed to the open ocean. Exploration by dinghy and kayak are popular with visitors, as are nature viewing, scuba diving and exploring the islands many beaches and adjoining islets. The nearest supply centre for fuel and food is at the community of Rivers Inlet.
Hazy Islands Wilderness, at 32 acres, is Alaska's smallest wilderness area. It was officially designated as Wilderness in 1970 by the United States Congress. The islands are located west of Coronation Island in the Alaska Panhandle area. Hazy Islands Wilderness comprises five small islands and is home to 10 species of birds, including Brandt's cormorant (Phalacrocorax auritus). It has no anchorages or campsites, and human visitation is discouraged to protect the birds.

The Harbor Island National Wildlife Refuge is a 695-acre (281 ha) horseshoe-shaped island and National Wildlife Refuge in Potagannissing Bay north of Drummond Island in the U.S. state of Michigan.
