Sheung Wan is an area in Hong Kong, located in the north-west of Hong Kong Island, between Central and Sai Ying Pun. Administratively, it is part of the Central and Western District. The name can be variously interpreted as Upper District, or Gateway District.

The station is the southern terminus of the Tsuen Wan line, a stop on the Island line, and connects to Hong Kong station, which serves the Tung Chung line and the Airport Express.

Pottinger Street is a street in Central, Hong Kong. It is also known as the Stone Slabs Street since the street is paved unevenly by granite stone steps. It was named in 1858 after Henry Pottinger, the first Governor of Hong Kong, serving from 1843 to 1844. It is a Grade I historic building.
Praya was a term used in Colonial Hong Kong to refer to a promenade by the waterfront. The name comes from the Portuguese word praia, which means "beach," but in China it came to mean a stone-faced waterfront road. Chatham Road South and Chatham Road North are two continuous roads spanning from Tsim Sha Tsui to Hung Hom in Kowloon, Hong Kong. The road originally ran from Signal Hill to Hung Hom, under No. 12 Hill by the side of Hung Hom Bay. Motusa is a group of close villages in the district of Itu'tiu, on the island of Rotuma, one of the islands of Fiji. Rotuma is made up of two volcanic landmasses connected by a sandy isthmus, on which Motusa is located. For this reason it has one of the islands longest white sandy beach. Motusa also sits between the Islands two largest bay; Maka Bay to the North and Hapmafau Bay to the South.
The Des Voeux baronetcy, of Indiaville in the Queen's County, was a title in the Baronetage of Ireland. It was created on 1 September 1787 for Charles des Voeux, who had gained great wealth in India and who later represented Carlow and Carlingford in the Irish House of Commons. He was the son of Martin Anthony Vinchon de Bacquencourt, who had assumed the surname of Des Voeux. The latter was born in France but had settled in Ireland after incurring the wrath of his family for having abandoned the Roman Catholic faith. He was a writer of polemical works. The title became extinct when the ninth Baronet was killed in action in the Battle of Arnhem.

Charles Frederick Des Voeux was an Irish officer in the British Royal Navy. He served as mate aboard HMS Erebus during the 1845 Franklin Expedition which sought to chart the Canadian Arctic, including the Northwest Passage, and make scientific observations. All personnel of the expedition, including Des Voeux, died in what is now Nunavut, Canada in uncertain circumstances. He and Graham Gore signed and deposited the Victory Point Record, one of the only official communications of the expedition yet found.
