Conservative party candidates won 41 of the 42 seats. A Labour Party councillor held one of seats of the Labour party group. The election saw a one-seat loss by Labour compared to the previous election. [2] As compared to the last election, the result marks a gain of one councillor by Conservatives. The result can alternatively be considered a gain of five Conservative councillors, counting three by-elections and a defection from the Conservative party grouping during the 2011-2015 council, bringing the Majority Group total before the election to 36.
