Taipei,officially Taipei City,and previously known as Taihoku from 1895 to 1945 is the capital and a special municipality of the Republic of China,commonly known as Taiwan. Located in Northern Taiwan,Taipei City is an enclave of the municipality of New Taipei City that sits about 25 km (16 mi) southwest of the northern port city of Keelung. Most of the city rests on the Taipei Basin,an ancient lakebed. The basin is bounded by the relatively narrow valleys of the Keelung and Xindian rivers,which join to form the Tamsui River along the city's western border.

In general,however,the Eastern District refers to the area between Civic Boulevard and Xinyi Road,including most part of Daan District,Xinyi District and Songshan District,the administrative districts in eastern Taipei. Daan Forest Park is a public park near the centre of the Da'an District of Taipei,Taiwan. The park occupies twenty-six hectares and is bordered on its north,south,east,and west by Xinyi Road (信義路),Heping E. Road (和平東路),Jianguo S. Road (建國南路),and Xinsheng S. Road (幸生南路),respectively. The park is used by residents of Taipei as a green activity space and for various outdoor activities. The park was created in 1994 after the eviction of longtime squatters and the demolition of illegal buildings on municipal land.
East Metro Mall is a shopping center located in Da'an District,Taipei,Taiwan. It is the first underground mall in the Eastern District of Taipei,connecting Zhongxiao Dunhua metro station and Zhongxiao Fuxing metro station.
