Jack Whitver (born September 4,1980) is an American businessman and politician,who is currently the Iowa State Senator for the 23rd District. Since 2018 he has served as Senate Majority Leader.
Whitver founded Acceleration Iowa in 2004 with business partner Geoff Jensen. They added new locations in 2007 and 2009. Acceleration Iowa is a sports training business,which develops speed,quickness and overall athletic ability for young athletes. In 2012,Whitver bought CrossFit Des Moines and CrossFit Waukee and opened North Ankeny CrossFit. Whitver was an assistant coach (wide receivers and offensive coordinator) for the Iowa Barnstormers of the Arena Football League from 2008 to 2011. Whitver is also an attorney with the Des Moines law firm Whitaker Hagenow &Gustoff.[ citation needed ]
Whitver was elected to the Iowa State Senate from District 35 on January 18,2011,in a special election. District 35 covered Ankeny,Johnston,Grimes,Polk City and the entire northern part of Polk County. He defeated John Calhoun by a margin of 63%-37%. After the redistricting of 2012,Whitver represented District 19 in the State Senate,which covered Ankeny,Alleman,Saylor Township,and a small part of Des Moines. After redistricting in 2022,Whitver currently represents District 23.
Whitver was sworn into the Iowa Senate on January 24,2011,and was named to the Judiciary,Economic Growth and Human Resource committees. In 2013 Whitver was named Ranking Member of the Appropriations Committee as well as serving on the Economic Growth,Ethics,Human Resource,Judiciary and State Government committees. [1]
Whitver was born in Knoxville,Iowa. He played college football for Iowa State University,starting at wide receiver. [2] He earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration from Iowa State University. He attended Drake University,where he graduated with a Juris Doctor.
He is married to Rachel Whitver and they have three children.
In May 2024,Whitver announced that he was diagnosed with a brain tumor,a month prior,and would undergo radiation treatment. [3]

The Iowa General Assembly is the legislative branch of the state government of Iowa. Like the federal United States Congress,the General Assembly is a bicameral body,composed of the upper house Iowa Senate and the lower Iowa House of Representatives respectively. The Senate consists of four year terms and the House consists of two year terms. The General Assembly convenes within the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines since the capital was moved there in 1857. Jeffrey M. Lamberti is a former Republican Senate leader and two term state senator representing the 35th District of the Iowa Senate,and served two terms as State Representative. In the 2006 mid-term election,Lamberti was the Republican nominee for U.S. Congress in Iowa's 3rd congressional district,losing to incumbent Democrat Leonard Boswell in a hotly contested race. Lamberti received 46% of the vote to Boswell's 52%. He was succeeded in the Iowa Senate by Republican Larry Noble.

Iowa Highway 415 is a short state highway that runs mostly north-to-south in central Iowa. Iowa 415 begins at U.S. Highway 6 in Des Moines and ends at Iowa Highway 141 east of Granger. Prior to 2003,Iowa 415 extended north from Polk City and ended at Iowa Highway 17 south of Madrid. Now,Iowa 415 turns west at Polk City and crosses the Des Moines River at Saylorville Lake prior to ending at Iowa 141. Since the rerouting in 2003,the northern terminus for Iowa 415 is now farther south than its northernmost point in Polk City.

Chris Hagenow is an American attorney and politician who served as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 2009 to 2021.
The 2014 United States House of Representatives elections in Iowa were held on Tuesday,November 4,2014,to elect the four U.S. representatives from the state of Iowa,one from each of the state's four congressional districts. The elections coincided with the elections of other federal and state offices,including Governor of Iowa and United States Senate. Primary elections were held on June 4,2014. As no candidate won more than 35% of the vote in the 3rd district Republican primary,that nomination was decided at a party convention on June 21.
Jake Chapman is an American politician and former Iowa State Senator from the 10th District. A Republican,he served in the Iowa Senate after being elected in 2012 to a seat that had no incumbent due to redistricting. Lincoln Township is a township in Polk County,Iowa,United States. It contains the town of Alleman,and portions of Sheldahl,Ankeny and Polk City. All but the northeast corner of the township attends the North Polk Community School District,in Alleman.
