Jangamakote is a village in the southern state of Karnataka, India. [1] [2] It is located in the Sidlaghatta taluk of Chikkaballapur district in Karnataka.
This is a Holbli headquarter. "Kote" in the name has meaning of fort, the village was surrounded by a fort which currently worn out or ruined.
The village has an old "Someshwara" temple. The Draupadi ammanaKaraga is celebrated every year on the same day every year when infamous Bangalore Karaga takes place.
As of 2001 India census, Jangamakote had a population of 5842 with 2986 males and 2856 females. [1]
Kolar district
Malur is a taluk town in Kolar district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Malur is Located at a distance of 26 km from Kolar and is very near to the state capital Bengaluru with around 27 km to Whitefield. One can reach Malur from Bengaluru by trains and by road as well. Train frequency is good, it takes around 20-30 minutes to reach Whitefield station. Nearby towns include Hosakote(16kms away) and Hosur(28 km away).

It is a regional transport and educational hub, and is a major site for grape, grain, and silk cultivation. With recent development, it is widely believed that Chikkaballapur will become part of "Greater Bangalore."
Chikballapura district is a district in the state of Karnataka, India. On 23 August 2007, it was carved out of the pre-existing Kolar district which was the fourth largest district(before bifurcation) of Karnataka by moving the talukas of Gauribidanur, Gudibanda, Bagepalli, Chikballapur, Sidlaghatta and Chintamani into the new district. Kannada is the official and most widely spoken language.
